im a new person to this but i always read it a lot and really have a lot of things to say about liberty men's basketball. Direction is going nowhere good without a change in the coaching staff. well maybe just a change in the head coaching position. i love liberty and all of its athletic programs but lets be honest the head coach has got to go or there wont be any change.

i have a friend who saw the bball team walking together wearing their "faith in the funace" shirts on. she said they were cussing like crazy, and that she has no use for the bball program here or the coach that recruited them. way to go guys, lets lose the fan base we have

JDUB, several of the men's basketball team falls into that statement you just made. It all starts with leadership, something the coaching staff is lacking. I like businessman's thoughts

I was too lazy to look at anything else. Maybe we should make a new thread and put it as a sticky so all the new people will know who is one each side. Or maybe we could change the things under our usernames (Scorched Earth, etc) to Haterade Drinker and Kool-Aid Drinker.

While you are correct on a few levels I feel we are a little unfair to the basketball team, I say that simply b/c if you take a consensus among the student body, or student athletes then basketball wouldn't finish on top(appearance and opinion on their behavior)...heck there have been surveys done already that prove this

Basketball has their faults, but its really no different then soccer, football, etc etc


ohh, and the whole leader thing...another sports team comes to mind at LU where they have the most solid christian coach, although he still has yahoo's on his team, and quite a few at that...but I wont let that change my opinion of him simply b/c he truly is a man of God and wants best for the kid and LU...he just may not know everything or believe everything, but it still doesnt change his character

yeah seriously. How is the basketball team any different than the rest of the student population? Sports or not, I knew, heard, saw plenty of questionable characters during my 4 years. That doesn't make it acceptable, especially since they are one of the more visable faces of our school, but I'm not nieve enough to think that our squad is going to be filled with Sunday school teachers.

agreed, I mean I understand the argument they represent LU and are "LU employees" or whatever else you want to say...ok, fine then dont compare them to the rest of the student body...just compare them to the rest of the student athletes (same sex) and you'll still be in for a

Okay, don't justify what they do by comparing them to everyone else. If they win the conference, 20+ games, and a bsc tournament, let them do what they want and no one will say a word. I don't think people care as much about the character, more about the quality of play; that is why no one has really said that much about some of the football players.
