Believe me over the years I have put my money, time and energy in LU Athletics. You are right that people were mistreated...Felonies were not swept under the rug in the past. Let's get real about where we are at and how much time/$$$ has been squandered to get here!

I lived in dorms with athletes prior to the JB days. I know for a fact things were swept under the rug. I don't know why I even engage in debates with him continuously because its just the same old song and dance.

Holy poop. The University actually responded to something in the right way:
“We are fully aware of the situation and have been from the beginning when Jason Eaker immediately brought it to our attention. We understand that everyone has fully cooperated with the investigation. Given what we know, we retain full confidence in Eaker and he has the University’s support to remain in his position. Because of its sensitive nature, we will not comment further until the legal matters are formally concluded.”

That is all you need to do with stuff like this.

JM should not be in the business of going off on twitter about some random blog. It only draw more negative attention. Simply acknowledge it and move on.

Good to see the secondary response from the school was the right one. Unfortunately the first response was the typically wrongheaded one. No school worth its salt is allowing a coach to stay active on the staff with a felony charge looming.

From the sound of things it's a mistake that carries an initial charge that is worse than is actually necessary. Even so, Liberty has no valid reason for treating it as anything other than a felony charge against a coaching staff member and they clearly did not/are not doing so.

I don't think RD was the head coach. innuendos and public record are like the Richmond/LU score last night...two different leagues.

Are you trying to insinuate that there is a new as yet unpublished version of the faculty hand book? :D

It sort of does but it is actually believable this time. The reputation of the person in question is the biggest difference.

And that depends a great deal on the reputation of those manipulating the reputation.

Don't know him well enough...but like you believe a suspension was in order. Certainly think that JM and RD are quality professionals.

I know and have worked directly with both Jason and Asa. The only similarity is that they both wore Liberty on their shirt. Jason's about as authentic as it gets.

The first time it was handled privately, but now it's going to be handled publicly.

The user "truthorconsequences" was banned from this board some time back because he ruined every thread in the Basketball forum with his incessant posting about our previous coaches and current athletic director. I issued multiple warnings to this user both for personal attacks and for the trolling. They didn't help. At the point that you're trolling a forum so hard that it becomes nearly unusable, you get banned.

This user obviously re-registered as "TCsquared" and has returned to continue to press his agenda. Re-registering does not mean your permanent ban is over. This user has now been banned as well.

Since I know that they're reading this: I am publicly stating that you are not welcome here. If you register again, you will be banned again. I don't have the time to be as vigilant as I once was, so if you return I'll rely on our community to point it out to me. There is not a place on FlameFans.com for that agenda or for trolling. Do not come back.

Well the above statement by El Scorch isn't very Fair and Balanced...

there are trolls everywhere, why do we get our feelings hurt over a message board post???? ---

Answer and Daily Double = Because the truth hurts!

The problem BSK (and Scorcho can elaborate if need be) isnt the fact that he brought it up, because we enjoy good full discussion and have all expressed our own frustrations about our major programs, the problem is the fact that ToC/checkmate/TCsquared/whatever other usernames he has used has made zero effort to be a substantive contributor to the board as you have along with other posters with dissenting views. When all you do is basically repeat the same talking points in every discussion, it gets tiresome. That is true here or on any other message board.
