Speaking of Fat Tire, I'm down in Wilmington for a stretch and just picked up a couple from Lowe's Foods. They also have it on tap across the street at bw3. Fantastic!

I'll end the beer discussion by saying some of the best beer drinkers I know are Baptist.

Now back to hoops....does UNCA have a shot in the big dance of pulling an upset? I'd say if they draw Duke or UNC then no, but I'm not so sure they wouldn't give a Big Least or Big 12 #2 or #3 seed a decent run for their money.

G-W's former A-Sun rival Belmont is one to keep your eye on. Rick Byrd is a heckuva coach, they could be as high as a 10 or 11 seed and be a very tough out for someone.

Mark my words, Belmont will upset whoever they get in the 1st round.

Asheville has no chance in the tourney unless they get a playin game.

And the Big East is the best basketball conference. Period.

If the average b-ball fan tuned in to the game on Saturday, they thought - "Big South Basketball...where the scores and our gyms are just like you remember in high school."

We've had fun joking about the Justice Center and the chicken coop all these years, but the fact is both of these teams will be playing in brand new, size-appropriate facilities next year, which is good for the whole league. CSU is the true remaining crackerbox, and from what I know of their financial situation, I don't see that changing any time soon.

I'm sure everyone knows its the smallest gym in D1, but in case you didn't there you go (I'm sure you knew that oldflame just telling all).

Besides, who doesn't love the BucSuperdome!

Look, we didn't reach the 70 pt. mark in our last 6 games, so I'm accustomed to these kinds of scores in the Big South. It's no big deal to me & I'm glad you guys won.

If you read my post carefully, I said the "average b-ball fan"...in other words, the one's who hadn't watched a BSC game all year until that one.

I hear ya & I read it thoroughly- I just think the 'average BB fan' that watches a Big South or any low/mid major conference game understands that scores are indicative on the style of play- that game happened to be defensively minded as opposed to run & gun.. the average fan would inherently understand the score being low and the reasons.. they would not understand playing a D1 tournament championship game in the tiny gym that they saw..

I don't think you two are that far apart, Kingaling42. And incidentally I enjoyed your remarks on CoastalFans. Then again, that site has been nothing but entertaining the past couple of weeks.

I agree with that- we're not far apart I just don't understand the score part..

I'm enjoying visiting their board today as well.. I really think someone needs to make the t-shirt I suggested to them prior to the game Saturday.. The Holloway special; "I came to Conway, SC and all I got was this lousy FREE T-Shirt!".. I'm not the graphics guy but I would go to town with something like that.. Happy reading!

Good thing Campbell moved out of Carter gym a couple of years ago into a bigger facility as well.

Porter Arena at 3,000 capacity is now just ahead of CSU in the bottom tier of the league, but I like our intimate setting.
