JB dunks rebounding Evan's miss!! Up 3 with 9 seconds. Timeout. We foul Warren. 1 and 1. They say he was shooting 3 but don't get the call.

Bottom line, NEVER complain about a win. This is huge. We are now effectively 5 games up for #2 because we have tiebreakers over UNCA and CSU.

The last free throw was strange- They let the ball bounce twice before touching it off of the miss. I didn't realize the clock didn't start until the ball is touched in that situation. Pretty heads-up play...and a great shot that almost sent us home 0-2 on the trip.

We get the win.....that was waaaaaayyyyyyy too close. We have season sweeps over UNCA and CSU. If we win one more conference game, the 2 seed is ours.

the best UNCA, CSU, or WU can get to is 12 conference wins at this point.

Did anybody notice the CSU SuperDome now holds 890, up from a previous 790? :D

Had to work today, glad to come back and see a positive, gut-it-out result. Can never ever count this team out.

Question for Haize or bwall, our resident refs:

When a player misses a free throw, when is the clock supposed to start? Does it start when the ball is touched by another player, or when it hits the ground?

Yesterday, when Brown missed the second free throw, Liberty had no one on the line to rebound as everyone was back on defense. Warren let the ball go to the ground and waited until his teammates were up the floor before touching it, and that's when the clock started. Someone asked me if the clock was supposed to start right away on the miss, and I honestly had no idea what the rule was.

Take this for what it's worth/consider the source...but:
On a missed free throw, the game clock starts when the ball is legally touched by a player
on the floor, but the shot clock does not start until a player on one of the teams has
PLAYER CONTROL of the basketball.
HERE.
