I tend to agree that if it were simply a matter of whether he wants to stay or go we would probably know today if not already. Negotiating a contract extension would take longer, but would be a great thing for the ongoing stability of the program. I could see a scenario where Richie tells JB that he wants to stay, but needs something to assure players and fans that this will not be a yearly occurance.

I dont think there is any doubt there is an offer on the table...I think we'll know something within 48 hours...and my guess is he goes no where but uses this for more stability in the program which can come from this

If this is true, there is no good way to spin it. Losing a head coach to be an assistant somewhere else? That just does not look good at all. There is no way to spin that as anything other than a disaster. I hope it's not true.
