That obviously doesnt mean too much around here "The enemy will try to tell you that Liberty isn't right for you. Stand against him. Liberty is the only place I want to be." -Ritchie McKay

Not putting Scar anywhere near this guy in the same bracket, but Im just saying ive seen people go to further stances and still make moves :D

Well, I tried recruiting him and he wouldn't budge. Maybe someone needs to meet him in person. That's what did it for RM.

so i was just rereading RMK's statement on why he left... i'm to lazy to read the last 5 pages since the last time i was on so im not sure if this has been said yet... but yea people want to make huge decision with their spouse... i don't know mrs. mckay at all... i've never seen her... has the thought been brought up... maybe she was acting crazy... and all RMK is doing is following the statement, "Happy Wife, Happy Life"?

I know this is totally random but that was the thought i had when i read it the second time...

His wife was interviewed not too long ago and said basically the same things RM always said.

its all about money. And less responsibility as the assistant. Now he'll be able to spend more time with his family while still making more money.

Part of me wants UVA to be ACC champs next year, so RMK will be "called" to be a head coach again at a BCS school.

You guys are funny. No chance. Not qualified. Not interested. I do really think that my alum idea with Steph and Julius in the mix is good. Juice reached out to me today and told me he really, really wants to get back in the program. He is turning down opportunities to coach internationally because he wants to be at Liberty.

He'd laugh, this would be a rain drop in a bucket to him...all of it...he'd ask for you to wake him up when we're down to 3 names so he can interject his opinion. I was talking to someone else that thought he'd be upset with Curry...I disagreed, there is no doubt he'd tell Curry and RMK "good luck in the future, I lost no respect for you...good bye"

I asked Doc one time about a coach that left us high and dry and asked him if it offended him b/c he put so much time and effort with this person he told me "you can never fault a staff member, coach or faculty member that leaves LU to better themselves or family by leaving LU"

You're speaking about a man who at one time was unsure if the doors would be able to be opened the next day....these "problems" are a joke to him

That would be my opinion on how JF would have reacted. The guy had seen big names come and go throughout his ministry and university. Perhaps these two would have been the biggest yet, but I can't imagine he would have looked down on a kid for leaving Liberty to play for Duke, or for a coach leaving for a job in the ACC.

I would like to see a guy that has played at all levels, for a LONG time get a chance here, but I'm not sure he has the resume yet. I wouldn't be against hiring him as the head, but I would much rather see him as an assistant for a few years.

I WISH we could talk a guy like Dean Smith into coming for a year or two and surround him with some quality assistants. Have him train his successor! I know, it will never happen!

What is going on with this program? The AD needs to take a hard look at what is going on and correct this now.

Tell him to send us some players. Especially tall ones with wide bodies. I would love to see Juice a part of the program again as well.

did anyone listen to ESPN radio today? If so you will know that Cowherd and Gottlieb both spoke extensively about the Tim Floyd and John Calipari situations. The Tim Floyd USC/Zona had a lot of the same types of lingo thrown around, althought apparently Floyd decided to return to USC at last check. He had just made promises the night before at a boosters club encouraging his kids to stay in school and not leave for the NBA to help build a powerhouse haha. I realize this a much bigger stage than our drama, but it was interesting to hear Cowherd and Gottlieb say a lot of the same things we have said. That noyone will fault a person for bettering themselves, but they will be at full fault if they are found to be a phony.

On another note

The more i thought about this today, I realized that we get wrapped up in Sports so much some times that we lose the focus. Liberty will never be defined by athletics like some schools, (tho we get wrapped up in that mentality sometimes). I really wish we could consistently compete at a high level but at the same time it's made me realize that we will always be dissappointed when we put too much hope and trust in humans. I still believe that Ritchie was in the wrong for the way he handled the situation, but I'm not going to feel too down in the dumps because basketball will never define us. God will define us and those that are true to the core, and sold out toward making that happen will not be turned aside by greed, lust, fame, or anything else. There is no reason to pine away or scoff any longer at a coach who wasnt as committed to the advancement of this school for God's purposes like the rest of us. We've had our time to be bitter and lick the wounds, now it time to move on. I pray that we find a man who is committed to building something that will last and will not leave a job unfinished.

The problem with this is that if JB has even met Julius, it is probably just in passing. I have to tell you though SCAR that just reading that he is that interested in coming back makes me want to. :woohoo He would be such a great asset.

Yeah I think I jokingly referenced him as the antichrist...and someone found a way to push it further. Crazy.
i think everything up until that is ok, but on a Liberty board comparing someone to the antichrist just isn't good haha, and that goes with the same as saying ....
