why?

I mean I am not a huge fan of bringing him back but he did find a way to win here but of course it is such a small sample size but he was able to win. Of course if he came back I think JB would have to pay him what he is worth but at the same time have his word he won't jet again. I highly doubt it happens so its not worth talking about but he shouldn't be put in the same category of RD but that is just my opinion. I am curious as to why you think differently.
1) Jeff Meyer
2) the reason I put him in that category is the fact that while he may be interested, I don't think we need to be like the girl who falls in love with a guy, dates him for two years, gets engaged and when he sees all the responsibility he is getting into, breaks up with you for another girl, then comes back 6 months later.

RMK saw the writing on the wall once Seth left, so when another opportunity came up, he took it. The problem is the way he left. When he said something to the effect of "its God's will that I'm at Liberty", then the expectation at the time was that he would stick around long term.
Now with his name being continually brought up by some, I have grown rather tired of it and that's why he is in that same category.

I understand why you don't want him back. I agree with that. I just think what he did and what RD did to our program are in two totally different categories.

Ritchie is the most likely of the four but is still a longshot at best. We are in the midst of pitching our admission to an FBS league, and I suspect that a big name hire is the kind of splash we are hoping to provide to league sthat worry about our hoops situation.

Not necessary unless you are implying the prodigal would be coming down from Ann Arbor which would leave most of dumbfounded. Jason is deserving of the shot but it doesn't look like it is going to happen quite yet.

When he was here the team did not play as hard for him as this team played for Layer. His own words in describing the team at that time . . "this team's motto is 'pass to me, shoot the three, play no D'". I'll pass.

Since BJ only thinks he is the enforcer of the rules

Jeff Meyer You get a waiver on the seconf reference since BJ went all rogue cop on you

I've been quiet on here for a while, mainly because my registration wouldn't work. But my guess is JB will go after a sitting head coach. Probably someone who plays an up-tempo style in a MM conference. Will probably try to lure a big name to the big south by paying way more than any other head coach in the league with better resources than other schools. Also will probably try to lure a name with connections to help raise Liberty's profile and get the Flames into a better league

Only Meyer or McKay would even be considered and I believe both are very long shots. They do know what they would be walking into, which is a positive, along with their top 25 experiences/connections. Zero chance for the other 2, even less than that for one of them.

I like the idea of bringing Jeff Meyer back provided he doesn't have any hard feelings about being let go back in the 90's . He did a great job while he was here with the moderate resources we had. Seemed like a nice guy and those that played for him liked him. I hope that we give him a shot. Not too sure about Allison or McKay. Not sure what everyone else thinks but I have not posted on this board in quite some time.

He wasn't let go in the 90s. The story has always made for some good fodder over beers with friends. i only hope it's all true. :)

I usually agree with you on the majority of topics, but you have to explain this or others that feel the same. Compare RD`s first few years to RMK`s. You could almost argue RMK laid the foundation for the past few years. I have nothing against the guy, I just feel the same as BJ on this. Time to find a new coaching tree

All this talk about RD and RMK in the same category or two different categories... If RD was in this forum he'd probably pass around a petition to help settle the matter.

Oh man. I'm not even touching that one. I forgot all about that though.
