At that salary, how can we say McKay's move was not a step down? According to Scar he should get 4X that amount.

Saying he wanted to stay at Liberty until he retires just as he was heading out the door. Throwing the God card around and around all the while. There's too many things about McKay that don't pass the smell test. I hope we get a new coach soon so we can put this behind us.

In my PLED 450 class the other day, we were talking about God's will. Someone said some people use Gods will as a cop out to do whatever they want. Another person replied "You mean like a head coach or basketball player? They would never do that" And it was pretty awesome. I also heard Hindson made some remarks about it last week

BTW, the N&A listed McKay's UVa salary today--only $160,000; Bennett is make more than 10 times that at 1.7 mill. 'Sounds like McKay came at a bargain basement price, if some ACC asst. coaches are bringing in a quarter to half a mill per year.

My guess is that is the minimum salary for his position at UVA. I'm pretty sure Richie still has a year left on the buyout from his NM contract, so they would be foolish to pay any more than they have too, since NM will be making up the difference to his salary there, which was 600,000. Expect him to get a big increase next year.

Not necessarily. Since he could sit at home and make his full salary for 3 years, it is to the benefit of the former employer (NM) for him to go to work, and whatever the new job pays, it saves them that much and, they just make up the difference. There would probably be a clause requiring the new employer to pay a minimum appropriate salary for the position so that the former employer isn't footing the full bill for him to work somewhere else where they pay him a dollar a year or something.
