TTL, I'd put the NEC and A-Sun behind us as well.

Just saying.

Kenpom agrees about the NEC.... barely...

We're on the same level as those guys. Which is bad.

The A-Sun will drop much more than us once they start playing each other.

Another thing of note about last nights game. I sat behind a team that had played Jesse Sanders in the national homeschool tournament and they were proud when he scored six points because they held him to 5 in their game against him, apparently thus making them better than depaul. They also said that in that game, Jesses little brother put up 38 points against him and that just about everyone agrees hes the better of the two.
I hear John Caleb is a HIGH MAJOR player. Jesse is not bad though.

Long way off here, but I am still holding on to the hope that Liberty will be remembered as the first 16 seed to beat a 1 seed.

No way we will be in the NIT. No team from the BSC goes to the NIT. There will only be one team that will shake out the automatic bid and even if they are sub .500, the deserving team that lost the BSC championship will not play in the NIT. Our conference gets zero love. The only chance we would have to make the NIT is to beat a Clemson, DePaul, and St. Louis and erase the Montreats of the world from our schedule. We just cant have those type of teams on our schedule being from a weak conference and expect to get a sniff from the NIT committee.

Of course this is all moot if we fall off during conference (even though most people on this thread has annoited us as the #14 seed with our automatic bid win in the BSC because we almost beat DePaul.....)

Welcome to the 21st century Agent2Be. You do know of course that these days any regular season champion who does not win their conference tourney or get an at large NCAA bid has an automatic bid to the NIT. UNCA went last year.

Touche' OldFlame.....I do believe this is the only such tournament where LU could make noise. They would be facing many of the same teams that they are playing now (power conference mid-low grade teams).

That's what FlameFans is generally all about. I'm one of the bigger homers here, but it cracks me up to no end the visions people start getting with even small bits of success. I'm certainly happy about them but I really think we do ourselves in sometimes with the way we talk here. I don't know if we have an inferiority complex that drives us to overcompensate or what the deal is.

It almost makes me glad that we didn't beat Clemson. Almost.

A-sun basketball is not that bad. They do have a large gap between the good teams and the bad teams but you gotta realize Belmont, Mercer, and Jacksonville and Lipscomb have been pretty good against major conferences and Campbell split with us last year. I'd say we are about as good as the A-sun. And thats not cause i'm biased cause my gf goes to an A-sun school.

The bottom of the ASun is TERRIBLE. Take a look at North Florida. We don't have anyone that bad.

North Florida just got their first win of the year on the road at Furman last night, won by 11.. Not that Furman's very good either (imagine how excited anyone was to be at that game!)

You also gotta realize that 4 A-sun teams are dI transitional teams three of those 4 are the bottom 3 teams in the conference.

I think that people are just trying to point out that the Kenpom conference ratings are a bit off to say the least. For instance, he has the southern conference ranked pretty low. Do any of the 8 or 9 conferences ranked above them have two teams as good as Davidson & Charleston? Also, anything that doesn't have the Ivy League in at least the bottom two has to be suspect. The metro-altantic at 14 is a complete farce. How are they better than the CAA even the Southern for that matter? Or how about the american east at 19? There seems to be just a slight northeast bias to Kenpom's analysis.
