To me, either the NIT or the NCAA is huge success, and if this can be achieved, then no one can really complain about success issues. As I said, either a league or Tournament championship would be vindication of the highest order, and as I understand it, we are all pulling for one, or both, and if that is done a couple times in five years, that should shut everybody up - one way or the other.

Some of it will never be over for me, but in terms of continuing the argument, I want to let it be over, cheer for the best possible results, and let the BS records speak for themselves.

Okay you thought you heard him cuss....the otherside is that he is one intense coach who uses slang that can look like a cuss word from a distance. As I have said I personally heard Coach Eaker go off on those accusations say it was ridiculous and he had been with the man for two yeasrs and never heard him cuss. Superjon go ask Eaker for yourself. It is like a fishing story...some make the fish bigger and bigger to frame the discussion.

Many on here don't like that others feel strongly over these issues. JB decided to put the wood to two good men, staffs and programs so deal with it. The baloney of inflated false mysterious criticisms are not going to alter the loyalty of friends. Here is a pm I recently received from a guest:

In answer to your question, I'm not mentioning this board from the pulpit, but I have probably spoken out on some issues from time to time. Please keep in mind that what I am doing here on this board is standing up for a very close friend who has won several state championships at the high school level, and a BS championship. To say that a guy who has done these things cannot coach is idiotic.

And please keep in mind that while I have indictated that I am bitter about my friend being fired, I have never said a bad word about the current coach, and I won't. I won't even say anything bad about Jeff Barber, but others postng here
are continually assaulting the character of Randy Dunton.

I don't think they should, and when they do, and I defend him, then I am a bad person, especially since I preach the gospel.

I'll take a leave of absence from posting, and prayerfully consider whether or not I should be engaging in these discussions.

These RD fans make me want to ignore the basketball section for the next 2-3 years. Why waste time on such a useless argument.
I remember those glory days during RD's interim term well; I had an employee who coached the cheer leading squad, and he invited me to come down and sit in the section that was reserved for them. It just so happened that the section was directly beside the LU bench. After the game I wondered how the things that I heard being said from the sidelines could be overlooked and why the offender had not been fired yet. Other than the chair throwing, one could assume that our head coach was a protege of Bobby Knight.
Having been a longtime fan of LU ( I even got to watch them play a game at Jefferson Forest ), I have to agree with a previous poster. I think that Meyer, and what he did at Liberty will take more than 3 or 4 years to top. I think that the character of the kids and the type of game they play coming out of high school is part of the reason. Hopefully RM's recruits will be team players and have a solid work ethic.
