At some point we should worry about us and not so much the cop with a rod shoved up his rear. Those guys will always be like that, we need to change for our sake.
For the past two years I've let my grades suffer for athletics. I've let my bank account bottom out God only knows how many times so that I could make it to a game. I have blown off family members and friends so that I could go to a game. I've turned down jobs for work because I wouldn't be back in town in time for a game. When you do that much, and get treated like we do every game, it gets to a point where you start questioning it.Good Im glad youre more of a fan than everyone else. Youre right, its probably frustrating to put alot in it and feel like its for nothing.
I've overlooked so many reasons not to do all of this stuff for the past two years simply because I love this school and love these things, but sooner or later you start not being able to overlook those things. I wish I could do something to show them what it would be like without us. I really do.
I love this team, these players, this school, and this staff too much to not show up to a home game or not cheer for them. I've driven four hours to games on a Tuesday night after having class all day with class the next morning at 7:50 because I love this school. I had an intensive, left right when class was over, drove two hours to a game, got back at one in the morning, and went to the next day of intensive because I love this school. I'm not asking for a thank you.
The only thing I ever ask for is our guys to play hard on the field/court. However, this is the fifth or sixth game this season out of eleven home games that we've had someone get up in our faces when they had absolutely no business doing it.Yep, and we did nothing to provoke them in any instance.
Did Chris say something over the line? Yes. We corrected that. We're kids. We screw up. The best thing about our group is that when we screw up, we apologize and try our bests not to do it again.
That's not what we're complaining about, but since you didn't see what happened, you have absolutely no clue what we're upset about. I love you kid, I really do, but this goes so far past tonight that I don't even know anymore.See thats the thing, complain all you want but unless we at some point address this internally we will never stop having problems.

So, good luck with that, Matt.
We have to say we were wrong every time we approach the people above us and whine about how we were treated.
Maybe if we fix that, we won't have so many issues.

PleaseNo, I know the coaches appreciate us. They go out of their way to tell us they do. I was talking about every single other idiot in that arena that anytime we look at someone the wrong comes up to us acting like they're better than us and trying to kick us out.
schfourteenteen wrote:No, we did not correct anything. Before tip off he was yelling sucks, and its our job to tell him what he can and cant say. We corrected it so much some guy got really ticked off and did stuff hes probably gonna get in trouble for that, but he was out of line the whole game.Speak for yourself. Me and Andy both told him that we couldn't say sucks. Maybe you're getting your Chris's mixed up. There was another one there tonight who is an alumni. He can say whatever he possibly wants and I have no control over it. I personally told Amos we can't say sucks. Also, you were six or seven people down from him, so there's no possible way the you know he was out of line the whole game.
Short Term wrote:Ok here's what I don't understand. I love LU sports but do my job I don't get to come to games during the fall semester. So I start coming this Spring and suddenly there's all these stupid rules. Like the word sucks. Once I was informed I couldn't say it, I stopped. I would say "inhales vigorously" or "stinks." But what I don't get is these same people that are this board jumping on me and Jon about the sucks thing and other inappropriate language were the same ones doing the "Swallow" chant at HP's head coach. How is that less inappropriate than "sucks" or "testicles"? There just seems to be an unclear double-standard.Because "Swallow" wasnt something we were told not to say, and as a word by itself doesnt offend people.
schfourteenteen wrote:Amos said "sucks" at least 10 times before tip off, and although its no a horrific word we were asked to refrain from that. Kevin asked us to keep people form saying that. Thats where were wrong. Unless youre going to tell me that midgame you or TBGBGBG confronted Amos on his wording, we failed Kevin. He wants us to not say it, but we allow somebody to say it anyway. He may have said it before the game, however, once I got finished blowing up the bathroom and heard him say it, I told him he couldn't do it. I'm the bad guy during games telling people what they can and can't say. I absolutely hate it. I have to go up to people and tell them that we were told we can't say this or can't say that. You can't say I didn't do that because I did. Chris is a 20-year man that can do whatever he wants. I can only tell him what the rules are. To try and reflect the blame of this crap on me saying I wasn't doing what I was supposed to is just wrong.

If its a different one then yeah Im wrong.

I think instead of us worrying about what authority fiigures do we need to take responsibility for their actions. Remember they have a shirt with our logo on it, and whether we want to accept it or not, we are somewhat responsible for what they do.schfourteenteen wrote:Amos said "sucks" at least 10 times before tip off, and although its no a horrific word we were asked to refrain from that. TTL is saying we should take responsibility sometimes for stuff and not always make a big stink to the people above us all the time.
I dont see whats necessarily wrong with that.
ToTheLeft wrote: But if having his back means you think that he was wrong in what he had done up until the time the guy grabbed him, then I agree with you. No one should be forced around like that unless they are visibly physically in opposition, which he was not.Have you not read anything tonight? I'm serious. How many times do I have to say that he crossed the line by saying testicle? That is not the point of any of this. We conceded from the beginning that saying that was over the line according to Liberty.
ToTheLeft wrote: Shut up and go away. You have no idea what you are talking about.No. Can't make me. Nyah nyah nyah. I didn't make the mistake of saying the word "testicle" so I get to stay put.
Now I remember why I was happy to leave this place. So many people who just hate on everything.I thought you left this place b/c you realized that we weren't going run away with the conference and b/c you had a job and b/c Smooth's word is law, etc., And, yet, here you are at 2AM on a Sunday morning.
You are totally misunderstanding me, and ripping me apart over what you think I am saying. No, I completely understand it. You even clarified it for me.
So keep hating, while I keep laughing at your poor attempts at being the winner of the forum.Oh, no, you're laughing at me. Oh, the shame. See, I thought you already handed out all the stupid awards for this board. I didn't realize there was one for Winner of the Forum, too, and I certainly can't wait to not give a rat's **** (this word edited out but, rest assured, I didn't say "testicle") about that one either.

SuperJon wrote:We take responsibility for every single thing that is said. We said Chris was wrong for saying testicle. That isn't what this entire complaint is about and if you think it is you haven't been paying attention. Then you guys are wrong. He deserved to be kicked and he was. The guy overreacted a little, but honestly, he doesn't know Chris from Pacman Jones.

Have you tried at all to think from that guys perspective?
