Another interesting piece of information from the article: Stephon prefferred VaTech, but they only offered him a walk-on opportunity. His final choices were Davidson, VCU, and Winthrop.

What if Stephon decided to go to Winthrop instead? How far would they have gone in the tourney last year with him? Also, would Marshall have stayed on at Winthrop through the Curry years and would Seth have followed his brother there?

Interesting stuff........ Perhaps this is the reverse of the Jeff Meyer curse in some strange little way

Doesn't matter because it didn't happen.

Oh, but it does matter.

Marshall and the Curry brothers would have likely kept Winthrop on top and as a consequence been a setback for our program.

But it didn't happen. Who's to say his brother would have still chosen to go there over here. He didn't go to Davidson with him. And we don't know if Marshall would have stayed either. I doubt it. He did all he could have done at Winthrop. There was nothing left for him to prove.

Seth Curry, the younger brother of Stephen and second son of former NBAer Dell Curry, is a player to keep an eye on because he is headed down a similar road to his brother.

Curry, a key member to Liberty's fine recruiting class in 2008, isn't quite the player his older brother is but he knows how to play. He can shoot it, as you'd expect anyone with Curry DNA. He can handle it, pass it, defend and make plays when a play is needed.

His stat line was impressive. Curry scored 19 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 from 3, 5-6 FT), eight assists, seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

You're right, the verbal means nothing. But he does pass the look test.

If that doesn't scream Duke recruit, I don't know what does.

Everybody keeps saying I hope Seth is half as good as Stephen. Why? Why can't he be every bit as good? Sure it would be great for him to be half as good, but there's no reason to believe he can't be as good. Stephen is a pure shooter, just like his dad. We can say the apple didn't fall too far from the tree. I don't see it being any different with Seth. The one thing that has yet to be determined about Seth is will he step up on the big stage. Stephen does, as he has proven with 100 points in 3 NCAA tourney games. But I don't see why Seth won't be just as good. Thus far in Seth's career, he has taken the same path as Steph: both are late bloomers with no "big" boys recruiting them very hard. Both look just alike and are baby faced.

Maybe I'm just a :koolaid sipper, but I think I'm just a believer.

We say half as good because we don't want to put All-American expectations on a kid who hasn't stepped foot in a college classroom yet.

Plus it's really not fair. Stephen Curry is the player that everybody's talking about when they say, what unknown player will be a household name after this tournament? Those expectations are ridiculous to put on anybody. Not to mention you're doing it just because they're related. Besides, who's saying Seth can't be better then Stephen? :pray

I just don't want to hype Curry up to the Brewington level and then if he isn't a superstar and is just a solid player feel like it was a bust.
