I just sat at one of the benches in that front area next to the stairs. I had some stuff in my backpack that I could read to help pass teh time (I also perused the wrestling media guide that was on a table right next to where I was sitting)

Very funny...if youve been inside the Hancock building you know that the only things they have in taht front area are two doors (one going to the weight room...I had a class in there once, the other going to who knows what because Ive never been in that other door) then the stairs, and then all the pictures of past LU sports teams, and the pictures of LU football players that went to the NFL. If a secretary had seen me it would have been as they were walking that area at the top of the stairs that connects one set of offices to the other (I got to go to Hancock a few times to do interviews either for the radio station or for the Champion so that's how I know this stuff)

JK37 is right on. has anyone ever thought that cooper may have an agent, and they could be haggling? i would think this would be done by early next week because all the coaches will be in atlanta next week, and there are a lot of openings. i think mckay is a safety net. cooper is the pick IMO.

1. Barber wants Cooper (SEC guy, Rhodes scholar, very sharp; he visited Tuesday night/Wednesday)
2. McKay comes highly recommended, w/ DI experience, but would be on his way down a bit to come here (rumored to be on his way now, lol!)

WHY bring in McKay at all?

Possibilities:
1. safety net (already mentioned), if Cooper turns it down.
OR
2. A different kind of safety net: When asked a month from now why he chose Cooper, JB can say "We narrowed it to 2, and he was more the type of guy we were looking for."

To play off of what Rocketfan said, our sources indicate that Cooper wanted too much money, and so we went with McKay. Also we were looking at an jerk't from WVU, and he was available for a "reasonable price"... but still.
