Fumble, thanks for the links, and here is a quote I found on his personal website entitled "My Faith", which is his testimony:
MY FAITH

One night, after the usual routine of classes, basketball practice, dinner and more practice, I began reading a book called The Power of Living. The author of the book talked about God and what Christ had done for us on the cross. He spoke of a way to know for sure that your sins were forgiven and that when you die, you could go to heaven. That night, I asked Jesus to come into my life. Honestly, there wasn’t any real emotion, no thunder or lightening, just a peaceful confidence that I wasn’t alone anymore. Jesus Christ filled the void in my life.

The Bible says when you become a Christian, your heart changes. No longer are you the same, the old has gone and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). When we make that decision, we are also no longer under the condemnation of the world or the enemy (Romans 12:1). Because of these truths, we can walk in freedom! We can begin to fulfill the purpose of our existence, to bear fruit, to make His name famous.

In this section, I hope that you will be inspired by the messages or testimony of others. I believe heaven has no “divisions” and pays no respect to race, gender or financial worth. No heaven is beyond our wildest imagination; but until it is our time to go, I hope we can be encouraged to create our own neighborhood of heaven on earth where we reside.
He sounds more like a preacher or a Sunday school teacher than a coach, so I don't know if JB would want him here. :P

McKay was one of the hottest young coaching talents around at one time, however, he's acquired quite a bit of baggage over the years and and currently he's on the down side.

For what it's worth, we may be taking even a greater risk if we overlook Pete Gillian protégée Alexis Sherrad. He is currently exists right under our noses and he may be the best talent within our reach.

One thing JB said, is that he did not want someone on his way down...and The Big South is a long way down from The Pit.

Get with the program! You're supposed to ignore and resist me.

Oh, and did I mention that I'm a huge fan of Gillan protégée Al Sherard! 8)

How would you feel about Sherard being the top assistant to Rob Lanier or Rick Duckett?

Disclaimer: I have no inside information whatsoever. I've just done some looking around on the internet and these are the two I've come up with.

Ricky Duckett is connected with Barber. Someone actually made mention of him earlier tonight and he seems to have solid credentials. If we could hire Ricky and keep Al, then that would be a good thing.

Hey Sly,

I guess we need to move Ricky into the pantheon. He is connected with Jeff Barber and USC.

Everyone likes Lanier, but he is considered too big for us to land.

The instant that I found out what was going down with the change in leadership, I checked out Odom's staff. I couldn't fathom having Wimp's boy as our coach so Duckett made the most sense. But even still, he doesn't seem to have the wow factor we might expect in this move. But I'll go ahead and add him tot he expanding candidates list.

Phil Ford...
...THAT is an interesting name. Long time UNC assistant until Matt D brought in his own staff. Anyone know what Ford is up to these days? That would certainly be an interesting hire.

I doubt if Mel would come back. But possibly Ty Nichols, Chad Hankinson or Mike Doig. :D
