I just looked at the schedule and even though I will be around most of break the only game I can go to is the Winthrop game....this kid from work has to get knee surgery the 20th so he is out of work for 2 weeks, so i am filling some spots for him, kind of sucks, but what can ya do....I will be there for Winthrop though and maybe I will actually meet up with you guys since the guys i normally go to the games will be out of town i am pretty sure

Back to the topic at hand.

I expect magic, but not immediately. I think that it will take the Dec games for the new and improved Flames to gell, as Coach works out the new rotations and substitution patterns. I also expect Brew to play 30+ mins right away. Heck, he's been practicing with the team for almost a year and it's time for him to get into game shape, physically and mentally.

I'm excited for the WU-LU games this year. Hopefully, if plans go accordingly, I'll be at the Vines in my garnet and gold cheering for WU at the first game.
hey, a MarkyMark sighting.

glad you found your way over- wonder if it had something to do with our incessant campaigning over on your board :D

make that, shameless self-promoting

well, I had posted here before.....last basketball season I think

but yeah the campaigning worked :)...I wanted to see what other fans were discussing and since WU doesn't play until the 18th, there's plenty of time to do that since it's just going to be a lot of chatter on our board

there's normally little else but "chatter" here, though EVERYTHING I have to say is quite substantive. :D

Yes, but anything Medic has to say is usually classified as a short story.

What!? There is no "chatter" on winthropfans.com, only the most in-depth analysis on such important topics like: Who is panfan? Why would someone go to Coastal (even if it was for only 1 semester) and then tell people about it? Who is more hated; Liberty or Coastal? (I say Coastal, but it seems a good number of guys on our board aren't too fond of Liberty)...

So, as you can see, there is never any "chatter" on our board.

Brewington To Debut Saturday At St. Francis

December 15, 2006
Lynchburg, Va.

Dwight Brewington the transfer from Providence will make his Flames debut on Saturday when Liberty travels to St. Francis in Loretto, Pa.

Brewington (Jr., Guard, Lynn, Mass.) averaged 13.3 points a game as a sophomore at Providence during the 2004-05 season. Due to the NCAA transfer rule Brewington had to sit out the first seven games of the season. The NCAA transfer rule required Brewington to sit one full academic year which he completed on Thursday with the conclusion of the fall semester. Brewington transferred to Liberty for spring semester in January.

“The addition of Dwight is pronounced,” said head coach Randy Dunton. “He is another big time weapon who is very unselfish and is a pass first kid. He is a great defender, not just an average defender, but a tremendous defensive player and he makes our team even better.”

Brewington is one of three players at the Division I level that plays with some sort
of hearing impairment. Brewington has 60% hearing loss in both ears and plays with hearing aids. Ryan Daniel of Lipscomb and Chris Devine of UC Santa Barbara join Brewington on this short list. Daniel is completely deaf and uses hearing aids, and Devine is deaf in one ear. The Flames’ December 21 game against Lipscomb presents a unique situation as Brewington and Daniel will
meet on the court. The Lipscomb game will be Brewington’s Vines Center debut.

There is a small chance that Brewington could face Devine of UC Santa Barbara this season as well. The Flames are a designated visiting team for this season’s ESPN BracketBuster in February while UC Santa Barbara is a designated home team. The ESPN BracketBuster match-ups will be announced on January 29.

The Flames open a two game road trip on Saturday when Liberty concludes the season series with St. Francis. On Monday the Flames take on Buffalo. Tip for both games are set for 7 p.m.

My bad...very great analysis indeed :D

And by the way, I'd say Coastal is more hated as well.

The Brewington debut is tomorrow......should be interesting.

Oh, that scent has been there since they played against each other when Winthrop beat Providence two years ago...if he was able to catch the scent as Martin was spinning around him:
