This isn’t by luck when you have a team that makes mistake when they are an emotional wreck. That’s who Lipscomb are with the lead of their coach. As I said and will keep on saying, anything is possible. Let’s enjoy this and I hope the boys get some rest and prepare for the tourney.

Lipscomb is a more talented team IMO. They executed their game plan early then went away from it. LU wasn’t executing theirs, especially on D, early then got in to it. When LU moves on offense they are so much better. They don’t have anyone who can beat you one on one. They do have people who can beat you cutting to the basket though.
My ONLY criticism, and some of it might have been by design, is post defense. Awful. I can understand not double teaming but I can’t understand letting your player just cutting in front of you and setting up shop. Ugh. Drove me nuts :D
I am happy for McKay and the team. But I’m not sure dancing is permitted on campus. I hear it leads to kissing 8)

We did what we had to early, challenged every 3 point shot and keep the game close.

Wanting to hear a report from Super Jon or Sum It Up who were at the game. Congrats to Coach McKay and the LU team!

That’s why I said I wasn’t sure if it was by design or not early. But the defense just wasn’t there in the first half.

Not surprised. :) I guess the fact that we beat them twice at their place kinda proves that.

Does Lipscomb even have a message board that we can visit? 8)

+1 Great game by the entire team, VERY proud of them. Only 2 TO's in the second half I believe. Fantastic poise and execution.

A foul IMO but Vlade Divac would be proud.

It was a foul but the flop was over the top and I am sure came from being frustrated by being fouled on the last play. Lipscomb hates us now because of that play but it was called in their favor so yep

We did to them what we do and we tired them out. Our defense forces teams to work so hard and then we are so methodical on the offensive side of the ball it forces them to defend the entire shot clock almost everytime. It tires teams out. That is why lipscomb had a hard time executing down the stretch. They are more talented but we are much more disciplined and better coached.

So excited and happy for this team.

Agreed. The second half Lipscomb went away from dumping it inside and reverted to one on one. It was telling during one part of the game where there were several up and down possessions where neither team scored McKay yelled for LU to slow it down and work clock. Smart move. Frenetic was going to help Lipscomb. Control was going to help LU

A rivalry has been born. I wasn't there but the atmosphere looked crazy and the Lipscomb fans on twitter and FB are absolutely hilarious.

I will say this though, we are lucky Lipscomb didn't give the ball to Mathews in the last couple of mins. Dude was hitting contested threes on great defense. In the second half Scottie played great physical defense on Marberry.

Whether James took a hard elbow or not, that was still the greatest flop that I have ever seen. It looked like it belonged on WWE professional wrestling!

If you look at the box score, the stats are almost identical, except that we only missed ONE free throw all game.
