Great for the guys to get the win. Campbell was terrible in the second half. Hope we can win a few more to reward the effort they have been putting out through the season.

Exactly. It's not a National Championship but you know those guys in the locker room felt like a 1000 lb weight had been lifted off their shoulders.
Someone said earlier that there was no difference between 0 wins or 1 win. Go ask the guys tonight if they think it's true.

I honestly had my doubts as well. I was worried that the Alliance Christian School girl's varsity basketball team might win before our guys did

Edit: for the record I believe that losing streak is around 60 games right now

Good Win for the Flames. A lot of good things to take from it. The game being so close and having the fight left in them to pull away. Credit where it is due. I dont know that anything changes from here, but credit where it is due to the players for getting it done last night.

There is a better than even chance we win 2 of 3 if we beat Longwood at our place

But before people think I've traded :flamingdevil for :flamethrower :koolaid a loss to Coastal will give us our 3rd 20 loss season in a row and over 80 in the last 4

I'm going to stick with us beating Longwood at home, but we'll have our 3rd 20 loss season this year.

Actually, I think at the beginning of conference play I called us beating Campbell and Longwood at home.

Well with 19 losses unless Liberty wins the National Championship a 20 loss season is guaranteed.

Good win for the Flames. I was more relieved for them than anything. No one wants to go through a whole season winless and nobody wants to be associated with that legacy. I'm glad for the win but I don't think this changes the inevitable coaching change. I would LOVE to see them do damage down in Myrtle again but in a way that would be an amazingly negative story. Liberty would be known for having horrible regular seasons but still making the Tournament. It was sort of an unfortunate sub-story 2 years ago.

I don't see a run through Myrtle this year though. Too many missing parts at this point. Remember I was one of the few that said they could do it 2 years ago so I'm not being negative, just realistic based on my professional assessment.

Now I know you are crazy ATrain :P Although that salary is very appealing. No way I will ever coach again at this point. It is just so much easier to be an Analyst. I KNOW how tough that job is.

Yes. Most weekday ASN games are at 8 PM. Makes for a long day for guys like me but its ok. No I will not be there. My lifelong "unwritten" ban from all things Big South continues. :P I have never measured up I guess because I have tried on many occasions to get Big South work. They did let me work for free the past 2 seasons in the Big South Tournament so at least there is that  This year I thought I would get the ASN games but they vetoed ASN and named their own announcers. Lepler and Ross do a great job though. Lepler is a Coastal Carolina employee I believe and my man Ross just does his own thing working as a caddy in the off season. He is a lot of fun to be around.

FYI I'll be in Tennessee on Thursday for ASN calling Tenn St @ Tenn Tech then I head to Philly next week for a game in the old neighborhood at LaSalle!
Has Dana Ford the TSU coach been suspended for the game?

Although I think he is a good player, it is quite possible Moller's absence helped us get the W. His minutes went mainly to Dembley and Kemrite, and both played key roles in the win. Kemrite also picked up minutes from Reid, who only played 7. I think DL may have extended the losing streak by staying too long with major minutes for James Johnson and Reid. Reid got us all excited with a nice game in the opener against Randolph, and it's been downhill from there. I think he has finally bricked himself out of a job, shooting a pitiful 26% from the field and 25% from 3. Those figures are even worse against D1 competition. JJ has been a huge disappointment. He has shot a good %, but has way too many turnovers and not nearly enough rebounds. Maxwell has been more productive per minute, and I expect to see him get more PT the rest of the year.

Getting too much love (IMHO)............. David Andoh. He is just as big a turnover machine as JJ, and only shoots 44%, which is subpar for an inside player and the worst of all our bigs (except, ironically, Gielo).

Getting too much hate.....................Drew Smith. Yes, he makes a jerk of himself at times, but he has outproduced Andoh in almost any category you care to look at. He is shooting over 51%. His turnover ratio is more than twice as good as Andoh's and in almost the same number of minutes he has 37 more rebounds and 3 times as many blocks and steals.

Not getting enough love Theo Johnson! The kid is a competitor and under utilized

As for Drew he should have fewer turnovers than Andoh. Some would argue because Drew ain't passing. He is a jerk on the court with nothing to back it up. He is shooting 51% but break out the shot chart. If it's not a dunk it's a crap shoot. He has done absolutely 0 to improve his game and gets beat on the boards consistently. Had he worried less about trying to figure out the other ways to dunk and spent less time trying to cheap shot players and be an overall thug and maybe JUST MAYBE worked on a nice 8-15' jumper that is consistent he would have been a special player.
Maxwell has been a nice surprise. He still has a long way to go, but he could be a load in the low post. Needs to hit the treadmill, but so do I so I'm going to cut him some slack.....and another slice of prime rib!
