Just because he is a Christian?? Respectfully, do you know how he operates around his players? Do you know how he treats them? I dont think anyone does, which is why I have that question. I dont see where anyone gets their information.

I do know all of those things. I worked for the athletic department and was routinely at practice and games. I filmed at Boot Camp one year for half of the practice sessions. I spent two days on a road trip with them chronicling everything they did, going everywhere except the locker room. I have friends who are around them all the time now. Dale's a legit dude. He's one of the best human beings you will ever meet in your life. That's what makes the program not performing so much worse.

THIS...and quite frankly, Dale Layer brings a breath of fresh air compared to some previous coaches. I'm just sorry to see the program not getting the wins

Seriously though how could someone not like dale layer? He is very likable and from the surface appears to be a liberty centric kind of guy. But we need to win and he is not getting us there. It's sad really.

That was all I wanted to know. You saying "He's one of the best human beings...". I'm not arguing any of that, it was a legitimate question.

I just happen to know a lot of people that he has had in the program or around the program and they don't agree that he is on all points. I personally trust their perspective because it was more of a lifestyle than what you see in a couple practices. I will never question his ability to communicate and motivate well, but I will question how he treats people on a regular basis. I believe your side and theirs personally, was just wondering which side you saw. I think if more people could see these interactions, it would be more middle of the road. Not dislike, but like instead of love.

Wasn't and am not trying to stir up any crap. Just want to hear every side to a story when I get one. I don't think anyone here that loves Liberty would approve of the things that I have heard, but you're right if you think he is one of the best human beings you have ever met because you have developed an opinion. Even if I don't buy in as much as everyone else, if he's the Liberty coach, Im pulling for him because that's the team I pull for.

Coach Layer is a good man and a good coach, he just isn't recruiting enough talent to Liberty Mountain. I was attending a coaching clinic once a few years back, and a college coach said college basketball was 85% recruiting.
Bring any coach in America to LU and he not win championships with our current roster.

From what I know, Layer seems to be a good guy. However, you have to win some games and we haven't been. I am sure we can find a good guy who can get some W's as well. He has had a good chance to prove he can win, so far...................... no bueno.
