Ive been ahead of LFN a good amount..I am not sure if there is any post or anything to back up the extension. I am batting 1.000 when it comes to information that I have claimed to know.

I´m not sure how you reconcile this statement with your expressed opinión that we should have hired a member of the current staff, in which case the only thing new would be the basketball ops person. In either case I think Brian Joyce is probably the top assistant now, and the only person who needs to be comfortable with that is Dale Layer.

the point of this board is to express opinions..i dont expect coach layer to come on here and make decisions based on recomendations from us yahoos on this board..so not sure what you are getting at... my point is this new guy is no upgrade over the current coaching staff...we lost eaker the head assistant coach..and in my opinion Joyce isnt on the head assistant coach level..we lacked a assistant head coach with eakers absence and i think we are still missing that piece

A recruiting coordinator doesn't bring something we don't already have on staff?

Perhaps I missed something, but I´m not aware that anyone on this staff has been designated as recruiting coordinator.

A coach who was the "Owls' recruiting coordinator" with connections in Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, and Kenya, as well as someone who worked with Athletes in Action, sounds impressive to me, not mention his academic responsibilities: he "oversaw the Owls' academic progress. Under his watch, Rice posted a 98 percent graduation rate, the best mark in the country."

I'm just saying that our recruiting has been generally poor and now we're getting someone who was the recruiting coordinator at Rice. Hopefully that points towards an improved recruiting situation in the near future.

Mance served as the Owls' recruiting coordinator and helped land the first Houston public school recruit to attend Rice in 40 years.
Since Rice is in the the Houston area, maybe he will take that recruiting philosophy to sign some local talent. Have we EVER had a Lynchburg public school player sign with our MEN's team??? (Purple's wife and LCA kids don't count!).

I think Sly will confirm that Houston HS talent is to Lynchburg´s as Halle Berry is to Whoopi Goldburg.

My wife didn't sign with the Men's team!
She has had about a dozen D1 players, one of which signed with LU. She's never had any sign with the Men's team!

i grew up in houston..know the level of talent there really well...it doesnt matter where your coaches are from. Liberty offers something very unique and that really limits who you can target and who is interested in you.
