He was the leading scorer, and a valuable player. So is it not enough attention or too much pressure? :dontgetit

I still think Layer will make us better through this, somehow.

BJ wasn't an LU guy? Either you have a TERRIBLE source or you're smoking crack. The kid shaved his head out of expect for the rules.
That’s what we’ve (Flamefans) always been told. Please enlighten us TBGB.

We have ALWAYS heard he left because he didn't fit in with the rules, etc.

I am assuming he realizes the only hope he has to play pro ball is as a PG, but he has not shown much of an inclination to share the ball in the 2 years he played at LU. Sure, Jesse was at the point, but a good 2 guard should be making plays as well. We will miss him most on defense. I would definately say we now need to target a guard in this Spring's recruiting class.

I don't care how many players we recruited as freshmen end up transferring, the solution is not to shift to bringing in a bunch of JUCO players. Been there, done that. Evan was here for 2 years. That is the most we would get from a JUCO transfer.

He didn't get along with Ritchie. That's all I'll say. It was 100% McKay

there is a noticeably different vibe on the board this time around. To me, that says a little something about the player. I think you actually owe it to Jesse to get a juco guard so that he has another running mate unless he just absolutely wants JC and him only to play with. i mean if jesse would have left a couple years ago this program would have been completely blown to bits, he was the only stabilizing force. Looking back, there were signs of this all the way back to evan sulking on the bench and barking back at layer mid way through the season. it's a tough loss but this one doesn't bother me as much as BJ or Seth.

what a selish act by gordon and his parents... joke what these kids yes Curry and Gordon do just because of family status. Now you guys may understand my arguments on other threads regarding Curry.. last name and family status will get them another shot, but neither are talented enough to play and really contribute heavily at higher level. Gordon is a whiny baby! so is Curry!
Curry stats suck when the WHOLE team was healthy!! And Gordon cannot even shoot close to what Curry can. Point guard my a$%.

That's pretty strong stuff HMO. Do you think Evan's attitude was that negative an influence on the team? I do believe there is such a thing as "addition by subtraction" in sports. Witness the Denver Nuggets.

I was thinking about this exact thing this morning. When Seth left it was devastating because our entire team was built around one player. This time losing one guy, even our leading scorer, doesn't have quite the impact because we are built as a team not around one individual.

Think about it. When Seth left who did we have that could pick up the slack? KO? Jesse? That was about it. Now look at it this year. Who can pick up Evan's slack? Jesse. Dave. JC. JB. The incoming recruits. Basically the whole team.

Kudos to the coaching staff for putting this team together that way.

His attitude has always been terrible, on and off the court.

Lets see our basketball has players leaving, our wrestling team does not or at least that I am aware.
Maybe we dropped the wrong sport.

I'm not to rip into Evan Gordon because as I said before, he's good, but his talent is replaceable. With time, J.C Sanders can fill that spot. Anderson.... well let's just say he needs to stop it with the 3's hitting off the side of the backboard.

having said that, we should try to come up with a brick smiley :D

Go Eagles, that's why he's the "big south king" and not the "acc king" or "big 12 king"...
