Konan, Sanders carry LU past Kentucky Christian

The Liberty men’s basketball team came into Saturday afternoon’s contest with the Knights of Kentucky Christian University looking to rebound from a tough loss to Coastal Carolina last Saturday.

Freshman forward Patrick Konan had 14 points and Jesse Sanders became the first player in LU history to record two triple-doubles as the Flames rolled to a 99-39 blowout of the Knights.

After the game, Liberty coach Dale Layer said: “We need to take every day with urgency and make sure we were getting better.”

I know Lang always points out that someone else writes the headlines, but the one in the paper copy of the fishwrap is embarrassingly inaccurate:

"Konan, Sanders sparkle Both Flames finish with triple-doubles."
PK had ONE assist.

Ugh.

Not surprising, whoever writes the headlines and photo captions makes me wonder if they are even capable of reading. They couldn't even get the name of a player right on the photo caption for the LC vs. Randolph game the other day ago when the guy's number was clearly visible.
