A lot of people ripped on Bird for drafting T, but somehow I think he knew what he was doing. Probably saw a lot of himself and figured this is a kid who will work his butt off to develop the perimeter game and passing skills he will need to have success in the NBA.

I was one of the guys that said he wouldn't be good in the NBA, early in his college career. But after his last 2 seasons he really had a lot more to his game than wacky off balance lobs that always go in. And don't get me wrong, that's a deadly weapon when you're not the tallest guy in the game. He seemed to have a decent jumper. Traveling is called less in the NBA so his 10 step shuffles should compliment his game nicely.

Also that was the first time I've heard those 2 guys. I kinda liked them. And not just because I know they may be reading this. Shiver me timbers was funny. I thought he was gonna swear. I think he caught himself about to swear. They seem to have more license to say whatever they want since it's not on TV.

Aparently he took speed before he game... but so did the whole Pacers team according to the announcers

It's not like they ever called traveling on him in college. I wouldn't be surprised if he got called for travelling more often in the NBA because he won't get "star treatment" like he did in college.
