The NCAA clearinghouse is a real mine field, especially for players from certain countries. Ehimen Orupke signed with us in the fall of 06 and was given an immediate release to sign with Wichita State when we changed coaches the next Spring. He still has not been cleared. He went to JUCO last year but didn't even play there.

Gee, a guy named Konan who dunks and rebounds, presumably in barbaric fashion? I wonder what nickname he might be given.

Dude played high school ball in a shoebox though.

Konan's ranking of 83 is around where Seth and Carter were listed, right?

Still bigger than Campbell's old gym. Not much smaller than CCU. Maybe bigger than CSU.

October 2008 article:
The Class of 2010 was well represented as there was a Barbarian in the house. A nickname that described this young man's play from an event last year, 6'5" Patrick Konan from The Rock School has moved his game outside. Yes, he can still play in the paint. Yes, he can still defend bigger, stronger players, well within reason anyway. But, Patrick has found a jumpshot that works from the three point line and he is not afraid to shoot it. He can handle the ball well in traffic and showed a good ability to make an assist or two to keep defenders guessing just what he was going to do. His game has improved immensely over the last year. It will be interesting to watch this young man over the next two years.

It seems like we're always able to get a steady stream of these athletic wing players. And I'm always surprised when we get one. Let's hope this one is as good as the last one we had.

Patrick Konan 2010- A physical wing player, Konan plays with a nice blend of energy and skill. He does a great job of handling contact in the lane and can knock down the jumper as well. However much the 6-foot-5 athlete improves his ball handling will have a lot to do with how high he can raise his stock as a prospect.

Game Recap from a tournament in Ocala in December
Patrick Konan led the Rock with 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting and added nine rebounds. Konan, a 6-foot-5 junior, had 14 points in the third quarter and finished with 20 in the second half.

“Patrick is a guy I was recruiting while I was an assistant at Liberty,” said Layer. “I closely followed Patrick’s career over the past two years and he was the first player I called after being named head coach, gauging his interest in Liberty.”

Konan selected Liberty over offers from Florida International, North Florida, Stetson and Utah State.

And yes, JC will go where Jesse does...and that really does help us out...package deals are a lot harder to make happen if you were not expecting them
Probably a silly question... but when will we know for certain if Jesse is staying?

This week is big...I change the 50/50 to the majority leaning in our favor now...he will make his mind up here soon.

So now we're 51/49? or are we closer to 75/25? And can you define "soon". Today? Tomorrow? 15 minutes? Friday? Patience is NOT one of my gifts.

I believe you may be the female version of Rooster

I'd say 75% LU right now and after more time with DL this week that could finalize things. He's only seen or been with DL a handful of times since he was hired so it's not like it's something been on his plate for quite sometime and still leaving us hanging. I expect more from the Sanders family then to allow this to continue through the summer weighing options.

Thanks for the comforting words re: Jesse's choice, that makes me feel a lot better. And I like Rooster, so I'll take that comparison as a compliment
