What the heck makes you think that?
Yeah, we have the same team as last year minus 2 major players. It's not the same team but it's certainly a solid core with KO, Sanders, Smith, Anderson and hopefully McMasters (not that he'll be gone but hopefully he'll be a player).

Add Minaya as well.

You're not exactly inspiring confidence with that.

This is great news. I know some are worried about his record of the past but nobody should be concerned with that. CSU is set up for failure out there in that location and in that conference. he's a great coach but even a better person. I was happy with either Layer or Soucie and made that known from the start.

I'm telling you guys, anyone who's worried shouldnt be. This is truly a great day.

Ohman's not going to be the same now that he's the #1 scoring option, because team's aren't going to disregard him and key on Seth & Anthony.
Sanders is Sanders and we can look forward to three more years of him, our team isn't the same without him but is he ready to be the hub?
Smith got better as the year went on, but he's just a big body... who had a personal foul-to-rebound ratio of two-to-one. That's awful.
Anderson is a good shooter, but I don't see the guy being one of the top players in the Big South.
McMasters is looking like he can top out as a Nathan Day player, although all accounts say Layer can develop big men.
Minaya is the x-factor, he was a college starter but who knows what to expect from him.

Minaya AND the recruits who come in are the x factor.

IF our recruits follow through with their commitment then we WILL be in the mix next year and in the top 3....book it.

And I dont blow smoke...just tell you how it is.

I think this lands Soko...they dont think he's a ACC caliber player and they really like Soucie and hopefully he stays on.

Something I'd like to find out is during the recruiting process Dale Layer actually might have been the guy to start the dialogue with some of these players...it would have been while he was here...

Not if Layer has someone he can bring in that's as good or better.

Something a lot of you guys may be forgetting or didn't know:

Layer has another son.

Still in high school.

Supposed to be pretty good.

I looked at the box scores for them and saw a one-to-one ratio, immediately said to myself 'and everyone said this guy improved? how bad was he to start?'

GW - six mins, four pts, four fouls, two rebs
VMI - three mins, 0 points & rebs, one foul
Rider - 19 mins, three fouls, three boards, seven points
JMU - 15 mins, two fouls, five points, two rebs.

I was being "Mean and Personal".

I still think Ed is ridiculously wrong.

Move to Chapel Hill and be a TarHole fan. We don't need your lame crap. Your "I'll eat crow once the team does well" ain't gonna fly this time. That, or go back to only posting in the courtyard in Politics and stay away from sections you know nothing about.
I've never taken this to a personal level. I'd appreciate it if you did the same.

It's been a few mornings in a row. I think he came home in a drunken stopper and ticked in the box.
Once again, do not elevate this to a personal level. All my opinions have been based upon facts, statistics, and past performances. I have never levied a personal attack against you. Do not denigrate yourself this way.

Thanks for quoting them so I can't edit them.

I am just sick of you being a freakin' Debbie Downer. You obviously don't watch/follow this team nearly as much as the rest of us, so why act like you know how bad off we are?
