As for these games mattering, I'm kinda with the "ehh" mentality with that. Yes, it would be great to win them and would help our team a ton, but we're not to the point where it's going to absolutely kill us if we don't. The most important thing, this year, is the conference and conference tournament. That's it. That's what matters. Let's achieve step 1 of "Gonzaga's Guide To Being Cinderella" before we start worry about all of the other stuff. We have to get there or the other stuff doesn't matter.

On the Bracketbuster deal, I seem to remember seeing on here someone saying ESPN said they tried to match us up and it didn't work out!

That wasn't for Bracketbusters. We tried to schedule a pre-conference game with them and couldn't get together on a date. As far as I know a Davidson/LU Bracketbusters game is still very much a possibility.

I agree with what you guys are saying. The conference and tourney are most important, but it would still help greatly to win these games. What I’m trying to get at is the mentality that “oh we’re playing Depaul, well that’s a loss.” We shouldn’t be thinking that anymore. We also shouldn’t be hoping for a close loss.

On the other hand, it gets less logical with every one of our losses. Davidson is the bracketbuster series' jewel right now (CBS will be broadcasting them nationally vs Purdue on Saturday instead of a #2 vs #8 matchup). They'll want them to be in the best matchup possible. And us on a losing streak is less desirable.

Here are the away bracketbuster teams who have current RPI’s in the top 100 (not including us) and could thus play Davidson:

Bradley, Buffalo, Butler, Cleveland State, George Mason, Hofstra, Jacksonville State, Miami-OH, Missouri State, VCU

Just because I'm not as elated with a loss as you guys are, doesn't mean I don't love this team. They've shown me what they can do and as a result, I expect more of them. It's the way the real world works. You guys clinging to your preseason expectations of not being good need to realize that it's not the preseason anymore and that we are indeed a very good team. Adjust your expectations accordingly and stop trying to sandbag everything. I also can keep in perspective how far we've come, but I'm also living at the point we're at.

Have you paid any attention to how ESPN operates? Trust me, if they are making the decision, the Curry vs. Curry "story" will trump every other factor. They are promoting it all ready with these pieces they are doing on Seth.

Chris and LUconn have a point, we could potentially lose our way out of contention for the Davidson game, however, if we happen to dominate our conference heading into the match-up decision, then I think that our chances will be somewhat favorable.
