I thought Davidson was already ruled out for the bracket buster game?

olldflame wrote:That wasn't for Bracketbusters. We tried to schedule a pre-conference game with them and couldn't get together on a date. As far as I know a Davidson/LU Bracketbusters game is still very much a possibility.

Davidson is the bracketbuster series' jewel right now (CBS will be broadcasting them nationally vs Purdue on Saturday instead of a #2 vs #8 matchup). They'll want them to be in the best matchup possible. And us on a losing streak is less desirable.flamerbob wrote:I thought Davidson was already ruled out for the bracket buster game? Why would they be ruled out when they're the most logical choice?

Cheese Louise guys! Don't drive yourself crazy thinking about "what could have happened" if we had won all of these games. If we went undefeated this year, we "could have" gotten maybe an 8 seed. That never was gunna happen, and obviously won't now. Can't we just be happy that our young group is playing exciting, competitive, hustling, hard-nosed basketball? As long as they keep this up and show progress, a loss here and there isn't going to bother me. Let the chips fall where they may.

They are promoting it all ready with these pieces they are doing on Seth.olldflame wrote:We aren't on a @#*&% "losing streak"!!!!!!He referring to the possibility of a bracket buster game versus Davidson, not the season overall

The teams most likely to disrupt a potential Liberty-Davidson matchup are probably Illinois State, VCU and Butler. ESPN will keep the Curry vs. Curry matchup in mind, but if Illinois State (currently 10-0) has a gaudy record and is ranked in the Top 25, it might be hard to turn down a Illinois State-Davidson pairing. Butler's 8-1 right now. VCU 7-3. One of the big goals of the Bracket Buster is to pair high RPI teams against each other.
Decisions won't be made until late January, so there's still time for things to work themselves out.

Just because I'm not as elated with a loss as you guys are, doesn't mean I don't love this team. They've shown me what they can do and as a result, I expect more of them. It's the way the real world works. You guys clinging to your preseason expectations of not being good need to realize that it's not the preseason anymore and that we are indeed a very good team. Adjust your expectations accordingly and stop trying to sandbag everything. I also can keep in perspective how far we've come, but I'm also living at the point we're at.
