And one more freshman The Minutes missed, along with every recruiter in big-time college basketball: Seth Curry (35) of Liberty. Yes, little brother of Steph. All he's done is lead the nation's freshmen in scoring at 20.3 points per game -- which is fitting, since big brother leads all players in all classes in scoring. Seth has struggled a bit of late from 3-point range (12 of his past 43), but not from one-point range (he's missed two of his past 37 free throws). Bottom line: The Currys are the most under-recruited family in college basketball history.

This is the time of year the legs start to go for many freshman...before they hit that 2nd wind. He will be fine!

He has also been sick like pretty much everyone else on campus. For some reason (and this isn't even a joke) the past two years after we played Radford everyone has gotten sick.

Even though Seth's shooting numbers have been down lately, his rebounding and assist numbers have greatly improved. In his last 6 games, Seth is averaging 6 boards a game. Prior to that he was averaging just over 3 rebounds per game. Also in the last 6 games, Seth is averaging 3.167 assists per game; while prior to that he averaged just over 1 assist a game. He has also made 43 of his last 45 free throws.

He'll shoot himself out of the slump. It's what good shooters do. See: Kyle Ohman.

I'm serious. Kyle was in a slump back in January. We all knew it. He has corrected what was needed and is back to shooting really well. Seth will do the same. He'll figure out what he needs to change and then he'll be lights out again.

I don't think it's anything specific. He's not taking bad shots and he hasn't lost any of his form...I think he's just hit a wall and the first thing that goes in a long season is his legs. He needs to rest.

If this is when Seth is struggling, I'd say now is the time. Let him get it out - and sometime around the ODU game let him get it back and have him on fire for the tournament.

Seth PASSED George Sweet as the all time leading freshman scorer at LU. JE said the record was set in '73.

There was a time or two where it looked like Seth seriously crossed his guy up (I think Jesse had one or two tonight as well)

Wow. Now that is a name I haven't heard in a really long time. Just a little history there...

1973, when Sweet set that record, was the first year we had a basketball team. George was actually a D1 prospect. 6'8" and about 240, and as a freshman he could really move well. His first year was by far his best. He hurt his knee, started traveling with Jerry to preach at rallys, and gained about 40 pounds. From a basketball standpoint, it was all downhill from there.

It kind of turned into an article about Steph at the end. How do these authors feel knowing that the article they're writing has been written 10 times before? They need to come up with a fresh angle.

Seth has now made 34 consecutive free throws. I took a quick look in the LU media guide and couldn't locate this record. Everything there is set up by game, season, and career, and a streak like this wouldn't fit any of those categories. If someone knows where to look, I'd be interested in knowing what the consecutive FT record is. I seem to recall a long streak by Matt Hildebrand in 94, and I'm pretty sure Karl Hess also had one.
