I don't know what you are talking about.

Thought we would beat presby by 10 didn't we?
were you at the game?

We beat ourselves. We missed alot of shots, they didnt. Ohmans foul at the end was the most ridiculous call of them all, but the refs were calling against us all night. We should have easily won this game by 10. I have to go with what a depaul fan said in front of me walking out "thank god for those refs or we would have lost"

I said this before the game and it's worth saying again...it doesnt matter how much better a team is, when they go on the road it's always going to be tough. I would say a loss like this isnt really that bad of a thing, but it's really about like Clemson so us losing this one really doesnt help our players learn to much about themselves other then they can battle from being down 20 while on the road.

I'm with Sly, this is a GREAT sign for our players to be able to battle no matter what is handed to them. We'll learn from it and gained much needed experience in our last 2 road losses.

We'll be just fine and we are with out a doubt heading in the right direction. This team is special.

What I like -- yes, like -- about this game is we never gave up. The guys need to be saluted for that. Two weeks ago when we lost to Clemson, we started asking if we had enough gas at the end, if depth was a problem and such. After coming back from a near-insurmountable lead -- in the second half -- I think we've shown that we've got enough heart to overcome that.

(Unfortunately, we don't have enough heart to overcome lousy officiating in a close game and the clock near zero).

Agreed and I firmly believe that this year these young'uns are acclimating themselves, are learning all they need to know for the next coming years. I can't wait to see them at their full potential. WOW! they're going to be AWESOME!!!

As disappointing as this loss was it is a great sign for our program that we are hanging with these schools from the major conferences...when we finally started playing our game we came back and almost won...with some more development it won't be long until we start winning these kind of games...McKay is really doing a great job with this group and its exciting to see them grow...now onto Saint Louis and hopefully we have learned a lesson in starting strong

And it was good to hear that Tyler Baker got some quality minutes...his length alone will be a big help as well as his shot of course

The SID article with box score:

http://www.libertyflames.com/index.cfm? ... 8&TeamID=6

Yes the FTs did us in (along with the refs). We outshot them from the floor and from 3 and fought them even on the boards. 5-12 from the line (Depaul was 12-18 ) Smitty and Stephene both 0-2 and Brolin 1-3. Seth hit 4-5, but the one he missed really hurt.

Great comeback after being down 20 on the road against a Big East opponent, but tough loss after a freak ending.

EEEEAAASSSSYYYYYY on the men in polyester people. I can guarantee you that they did not cost us the game. If you look, say, even 5 seconds earlier we had a chance to go up by 2 but missed the FT. So did the offical not make THAT call or did we just mosey up to the FT line and take the shots? Did the officials MISS the free throw? Perhaps one of them jumped up and swatted the ball away n mid flight? No? Hmmm guess they didn't lose it for us. Here is an idea, if you don't use your hands on defense, you probably won't get called for a foul. Or how about just staying in front of your man and contain them?? Very difficult for a "crooked" referee to call a foul if there is no contact.
The first half deficit didn't help the cause at ALL, but dang if they didn't show a lot of moxy and make a nice run. It was also nice to see LU get some pub on ESPN!!

Did you really think they would pay us the money to be in the tournament and give us a win?

Win or Lose, these games are going to help the team down the road...whether its this year or beyond.. i have no problems with this team losing the close one's to clemson and depaul... the bottom line is 2 teams will never come out of the big south to play in the ncaa's...so the mindset should be to play competitive all year.. and condition ourselves physically and mentally for the Big South tournament... with 2 other post season tournaments...NIT and the new one...that is where these losses could hurt the team...difference from nit to the other one...but this team is proving that they can play on any given night (just keep them off ESPN at Ashville from now on - he he)

my only reservation is i hope the men do not run out of gas with the minutes they are logging and the fact that many are freshmen who may not have played this many minutes in a season...stay tune! i am sure rmk will consider giving them some rest down the stretch to keep them fresh for the games with greater importance.

Keep up the good work men!

The key for LU is Conference play the rest of these are practice and rehersal sessions.

I disagree. It used to be that way for us, but we need to change our way of thinking.

ok, every year, I'm always the biggest homer harping that OOC games don't matter and are irrelevant. Although this team has never done anything in the postseason (obviously because it's the middle of the year and they're freshman), I think we can all see that there's the potential to do more than just "get there". Therefore, for the first time ever, I submit to you that maybe these games do mean something. At this rate, if we take care of business in conference tournament (and lose a couple of games along the way, we're still looking most likely at a 16 seed. And that's just too much to overcome.

Are we getting ahead of ourselves, as fans? Yes.

I think if anyone was predicting that we would be 7-3 at this point in the season back in October, you would have been laughed at. The fact that we had a huge lead AT Clemson with just under a hair to go, took a Big East team to the wire and beat UVA at their place is incredible.

We do I agree, but not this year. These are a bunch of Freshman! Up until 3 or 4 weeks ago we all would have been happy with a just above .500 record at this point. These boys won games they were not supposed to, and stayed close with teams you wouldn't expect such a young team to be able to. We do need to change, and we will just not yet.

I don’t think we are getting ahead of ourselves as fans. This team has shown they can compete with the teams from the power conferences. This year we may not be able to get better than a 15 or 16 seed, but we can’t just chalk out of conference games and say they’re irrelevant anymore.

Well said 100%
Look I'm disappointed we didn't pull off the Clemson and DePaul wins, but I still think it is incredible that this team is at this point to compete with those teams this early!

Sorry, but I think it’s time to change our way of thinking now. I thought that before last night’s game. During the first half I was beginning to think maybe I was wrong, but after the 2nd half performance I think it is time to do so now. The Saint Louis game (and if we play Davidson in the bracketbuster) is our last chance to prove we belong with the “big boys.” I will be extremely disappointed if we lose.
