Really?? So the LU win last night over a RU team that had no real motivation to win is all telling now?? We have played RU as well as anybody this year but ended up on the wrong side twice inclose games, including OT up there, so we're quite capable of taking the Highlanders out.. I will conceed I'm more concerned about WU than I am about a potential game at RU though.. Just not sure why you think RU & LU is so superior to UNCA though..

It might have something to do with wins and losses.

Actually, I agree with you that although it would be an upset, UNCA (or Winthrop for that matter) is capable of advancing to the finals. It seems funny to say when you have RU out there with 15 wins, but there has been a lot of parity in the BSC this year. A lot of close games between title contenders, mid-level teams, and even bottom dwellers.

Well Radford was one of the worst out of conference, but wound up best in conference... (They didn't beat a DI school out of conference all year... ouch.)

UNCA actually only won 1 game out of conference, a 3 point home win over the Catamounts of WCU... sheesh the BSC was bad OOC this year.

So if you look at body of work, LU and VMI have to be the two best in the league. If you look at recent performance, RU has to be the favorite. UNCA just doesn't seem to hold an argument over anyone... except that they CAN beat LU and VMI (something the bottom dwellers can't say)

Something else to consider is that while I am sure RU is happy to be playing all their tournament games at home, perhaps they shouldn't be. All 3 of their conference losses have come on their home court.

I agree about the officiating. Parakowski was getting the Jordan treatment. I thought Ritchie was going run out of bodies to put on the floor! Art is a physical player that initiates a lot of contact. After a while it seemed Tyler and Austin were almost letting him shoot and they would still get a whistle blown against them. I very rarely comment on officiating but blowing that many fouls made that game tough to watch.

I don't think asheville or winthrop will beat radford because two days earlier they have to beat each other up just for a chance to play radford.
