Your're right BJ, let's just have blind faith and allegiance in everything LU does, never questioning, just accepting that Christians have to be losers on the bball court

I'm talking strictly about Layer. Never mentioned Barber, the Board, Jr., etc.

Im not saying we have to be losers on the basketball court Sheh...its fine to want to win, Im sure that Barber if you sat down and talked to him wants that as much as you do, I do and everybody else in Flames Nation does. Now do I agree with the decision to extend him (if that is what happened)? Not really for the very reason that has made itself manifest this season, and that is we need to see if we can build on 2012-13, which we obviously could not. Now, there are factors at play here that we can speculate on but really the only ones who know the whole story behind the decisions that are made are JB, JLFJR and the affected coaches. If you disagree with them, that is AOK, just know that there are things going on that we can only speculate unless we are actively involved in the process within the administration.

Have you thought about decaf? More people than LBL think DL should be gone. Not sure I'd lump Sheh and Golf in with him. Geez. Lighten up.

And here comes the non committal that makes it seem like a committal
Do you think he should go? Not do you think the admin does

I appreciate the vote of confidence Haize!

If I ever come close to LBL someone please find me and shoot me. Maybe I post more about my frustrations than others, but I want LU to succeed in every area. The two big sports FB & BBALL have just been frustrating the past few years.

I do like what I see in returning next year regardless who is coaching in Gielo, Smith & Retic. Those three are better combined are better than the departing six in Roberts, Vander Pol, Burrus, Coranado, Marshall & Sanders IMHO. Addition by subtraction.

Do I think he should go? personally I think we should swallow the buyout, let him go, and make a fresh start...let the new coach re-recruit the guys already signed and hopefully move us in the right direction.

Um, I don't think Barber should be fired. I don't think I've ever said that. I don't think he has done as great of a job as some people on here would allude too, but I don't think he should be fired.

BJ, just look at the team. Are you honestly proud of what LU sent down to our conference tournament? How can you, or any of you people who call yourselves Liberty fans, be proud of that disaster?

I'm fired up, not because I dislike Liberty, but because I love Liberty. I don't like watching us lose, in fact, I hate it. What I want to know is, why are some of you okay with it?

Now you are starting to see. But I would vote to keep Jerry. The results say it all.

Kind of hypocritical to get as angry as you did a few posts earlier, but sure, go for it.

In other news Layer isn't going anywhere. I disagree with it, but such is life I suppose.

It was mostly based in sarcasm because I know LBL has been trumpeting it since his love buddy got canned...and a few others are sounding very much like him...anyway, PH wanted to know what I think should happen and I said so...given what happened, Id say we eat the buyout (however much it may be) and go for a fresh start with a fresh face, and maybe can get this team having some regular success so we can finally forget about He Who Shall Not Be Named, Coach McKay, Seth Curry, Hankinson and so on and so on, and then maybe folks like LBL can fade into history and we can enjoy our new history.

It is quite hilarious that you actually believe I have sounded anything remotely close to lblifer. I'm the one who claims Randy Dunton as the WORST coach in LU history.

What do you think of Ryan, chippy? I really don't know anything about him. Roster has him as a 6'4" guard.
He's 6'4" and a shooter - he will be able to get off shots and create his own shots playing the 2/3. It's just a matter of his ability to play D.

We have 8 guys coming back (under ideal circumstances) next year: Ryan Kemrite, Chad Donley, Sommy Ogukwe, Joe Retic, Devon Pekas, Wes Alcegaire, Andrew Smith ( the resident Sportscenter highlight) and Tomasz Gielo. Donley and Pekas could either be on the chopping block or have potential for transfer (possibly Ogukwe).

Pray tell, what are we ignorant on? If you actually reread the posts, which is highly doubtful, you would see that your assumption of people's attitude on the current state of the program is off base. However, you will find unanimous opposition to your solution. There are very few topics on this board that everyone agrees on, you should be proud that you found one.

Pekas and Layer are both walkons, and I seriously doubt either will be offered a schollie. I do not agree that all 7 of the scholarship players who have remaining eligibility coming back would be "ideal circumstances" BJ. IMHO we are better off if one or more do not return, either by choice or by coaches decision not to renew. This would free up at least one more schollie to sign a big as well as a slashing/scoring 2 guard out of the JUCO ranks. We have at least 1 player who would be essentially a 5th year senior with no forseeable role next year. Possibly 2. IMHO we shouldn't use a scholarship for someone who has proven he cannot contribute on the court and has already had 4 years of paid education.

Good thoughts Oldflame. It will be interesting to see who will be on the team next year and who will step up and contribute, lots of openings on the roster with the opportunity for guys to step up. Doesn't look like we'll be very deep next year though regardless of who we bring in.
