No. The Coastal board is in total meltdown mode!

Speaking from unfortunate experience, the Carlos Webb scandal at G-W broke in September of 2002 and we didn't hear the ruling on it until March of 2004. The infractions committee takes their sweet time. The fact CCU had another sport on probation, even if it is womens golf, at the time some of if not most of the current allegations took place could really bite them in the buttocks, that reeks of lack of insitutional control, a big time no-no.

Also, someone please inform the pinhead trustee at CCU that none of us are jealous of CCU's success.

Kudos too to Baucom and Biedenbach for saying what they did in the article. I don't think Cliff will be bringing the donuts to the next BSC mens hoops coaches meeting, unless he paid someone else under the table to pick them up for him.

Tourney is up for grabs. Who has the leadership/toughness? Can't wait to see. Has the potential to be the most competitive tournament in recent years.

You are correct, but no team in this league deserves a spot in the NCAA field of 65 this year. As someone else has already said, "we suck".

I was trying to remember tonight when the last time G-W led a football game 24-0 was...it was likely a game against Savannah State a few years ago.

The last time we came out of the gate so strong is when we kicked UK square in the scrotum in Rupp with a 14-0 burst out of the gate back in 2007.

HPU didn't get their first field goal until 6:48 left in the first half...

To HPU's credit, being down 37-10 at the half, they came right out to start the second on a 12-0 run that forced Holtmann to take a timeout. They didn't exactly lay down. If LU just focuses on slowing down Barbour, the Flames win, quite easily in fact. HPU just doesn't have any other player that wants to step up and score consistently.

We're still going to have our hands full at CCU Tuesday night. I tend to think Cliff and the boys are a tad chapped...I'm still hopeful Coach Holtmann has a trick or two up his sleeve in the gameplan that might keep us in it until the final five minutes, then let the chips fall where they may.

I'd say UNCA and actually VMI are the favorites. VMI has come out of nowhere seemingly. Winthrop knows how to play tourney time, but this year they've been so up and down it's hard to see them winning 3 games.

With all the drama surrounding Coastal, they'll lose either to GWB or the Championship round.

My prediction: UNCA.

Im actually gonna say that we have just as much chance to win this. Have we hit difficulty of late? certainly...but that isnt reason to jump off the ledge for us...we get HPU at home and if G-W gets the upset, we have show that we can beat every single one of the other teams in the conference (even Coastal).

(For shame...Liberty fans showing no faith in their own team...)

If you look at both matchups we had with the Chants (when they had both Greenwood and Holloway), we showed that we can hang with them. Even when they got out to that big lead when we played in Vines, we didnt lay down...we kept right on fighting and we gave them everything they could handle. Now they are without probably the two biggest bullets in their proverbial six shooter. If we could give them a game when they had those guys, I think that without them that we can get over the top

I'll go out on a limb a bit and say the winner of VMI/WU Tuesday night wins the whole shebang.

Does anyone here objectively see the 6 (CSU), 7 (HPU), or 8 (GWU) winning on Tuesday night?
I love to dream and drink gallons of red and black kool-aid, but I say no.

Here's what I'd give each 3

CSU 20% of an upset
HP 10% of an upset
GWU 40% of an upset

GW, LU, UNCA, VMI win round 1.

LU, GW win round 2.

LU wins round 3.

I think GW is getting hot at the right time, and they'll make a nice little run. But that's a team we match up pretty well with, and at home, it'll be a win.

Pass me some of that King James-laced reefer you are smoking over there TTL.

Like I said before, Holtmann will have a game plan in place for Coastal (ask Georgetown about how his game prep in the dance hurt them last year). Of course, one perk we would have going for us if we do pull the big upset Tuesday is that we can sit in Conway and not have to travel late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, while everyone else outside of CSU would have quite a nice bus ride to deal with.....

G Webb, where's your faith my friend? You already beat them once in Conway, and almost beat them in Boiling Springs. You guys were pretty much the only team to do it back before Holloway got suspended and Greenwood (or whatever his name is) got hurt.

It's never easy to beat Coastal, but clearly your coaching staff knows how to shut down Coastal's offense. Something nobody else has seemed to figure out.

That's why I tried to clarify that I was talking about when Coastal was at full strength and not with 3 starters that they had in the beginning of the season.

I'm fully aware UNCA beat them. And they probably would again.

I do know that there was at least a slide being shown prior to convo starting.

Yeah but thats it. They has been no mention of a game at all other than a few signs and most students are not going to know that its a 3 dollar few to get in. I think some people may show up see thry have to play and leave.
Just a shame Liberty did nothing to hype this game at all. I will be there as usual in the front row just hope we have a good crowd.
