As I read them a few times I realized that I took out a lot on this guest from my continual frustration with fly-by posters. I didn't like that I responded in frustration so I apologized to him and took down those posts. He apologized in kind and asked HMO to take down some of his.

No fear... I'll stick around and still have something to say when I think guests are taking pot shots. This case got out of hand and I want to display better than I did on that last exchange. Thanks for asking...

I've thrown enough opinions on here and would be fine if the moderator wants to remove them...especially my last post. Tally and I have reconciled and are cool with one another. I would however encourage diversity of opinion and constructive criticism on the sight. Growth can occur this way.

I constantly keep hearing that we only won the conference two years ago because Winthrop was down because some of their players were hurt. I'm sorry that we won that year. Coach we should give back our trophy because we did not have to face a healthy Winthrop squad.

That argument is foolish. We won the Big South fair and square that year. I don't care what teams had injured players, and what teams were healthy. Who's to say that we wouldn't have won that year if Winthrop was completely healthy? Nobody knows, but what we do know is that Liberty University won the Big South Championship in 2004. End of story.

The problem this season is very simple. No post play and lack of experience.

Talent does not run deep this season. Give Dunton the marginal talent of even the late Hankinson era and he's at the top of the league.

No doubt about it. I haven't felt this good about a win since the Chattanooga win 2 years ago. I hope that it wasn't a fluke. Winthrop is an excellent team and their non-conference performance proves that fact.

Ummm you may want to ask Birmingham Southern about that. Yes we won and no one can take that away, but let's not get carried away thinking we are the Juggernaut of the Big South

Birgingham Southern was no where near as good as LU back in 2004. I think LU lost to them by 4 at their place, with a questionable foul right at the end of the game, but LU completely destroyed them at home...and our out of conference schedule was much tougher.

Even had Birgingham Southern been eligible, they would've been the 2nd seed, not the first, b/c LU had a better record against the higher seeds.

Love the win over Winthrop tonight.

That win was GREAT! I'll guarantee ya that we lit a FIRE under WUs' collective rear end though- I'd bet they don't lose again all year and may even go 2 rounds into the tourney after that loss. You wanna talk about motivation! and they're a very solid team to begin w/ (as much as I hate to admit that) We probably just made them killers!

Nope, but a WU fan on the ESPN board posted this, under the headline: "What is wrong in Rock Hill?"

I find it absolutely AMAZING how this year started out as something that could be very special, and turns out not only to be just another Winthrop Basketball team, but rather a team that has turned inverted and pulled the stick back only to find themselves in a nose dive heading straight towards the earth at 250 knots with about 2000' left on the Altimeter.
Here is my prediction: Winthrop will win the regular season championship but will be knocked out of the Big South Tour by the 2nd round. Obviously, the term consistent is not Coach Marshall's vocabulary. This will put WU into the NIT and who knows what will happen there.
Then again, there is still barely enough time to pull out of this dive before becoming a scorched crater in the city of Rock Hill.
Either way, with no disrespect to Liberty, I am very disappointed as a fan and as an alumni from this school. If I lived a little closer I would turn in my Eagle Club sticker and request a refund.
