Carter McMasters, 6'10" senior post player for the Grace Academy Golden Eagles, has verbally committed to continue his education and basketball career at Liberty University of Lynchburg, Va.
Carter, the son of Tommy and Melinda McMasters of East Brainerd, has notified Coach Ritchie McKay of his intent to sign with the Flames on the Nov. 15 national signing date.
Mattheiss says McMasters was blessed with the opportunity to consider offers from numerous SEC, ACC, Big 10 and Southern Conference schools, including an outstanding offer from UTC.
According to Carter, he chose Liberty for the combination of "...the Christian atmosphere for spiritual growth" and the development of his game.

This was the best possible way to settle it.That argument was settled for me a long time ago. I know that we have gotten kids with Legitimate offers at other schools including Chris Caldwell, Larry Jackson and Keith Ferguson. I believe Dees had some really serious offers as well but I didn't help recruit him so I am not sure.
