I didn't see the game. Just the stats. This is what I gather from the stats: a) LU didn't turn the ball over hardly at all, which is rare. B) LU shot lights out in the first half, better than anytime this season C) WU outrebounded and scored in the paint at will D) Phillip Williams didn't play much and had a tooth pointed backwards when he did---putting much of the weight on Bradshaw

I'm not saying you don't have a shot, just my personal opinion that that was probably as good a shot as you were going to get. Rebounds and points in the paint aren't as variable as hot outside shooting and turnovers. Take it for what you will.

Good game though, I wish I was there to see it. That might have been the last opportunity I would have gotten to see Blair and he didn't disappoint in the first half.

look guy, You've said the same thing on the WU board, that you took LU's best shot. You are right in a sense that, to date, that has been on of the better games that we've played. (We played very well agaisnt HPU) But just looking at the number, that certainly wasn't LU's perfect storm. The first half was definatly our best shot, but there are 2 halves in basketball. I keep hearing how great Larry shot, yet he was 7-20.

Bottom line, we can play better so WU can't exhale just yet. Lucky for them they can no doubt play better as well.

LU is definitely playing better. No doubt. I just wouldn't make statements like "we will definitely win if we play them again." From looking at what happened, LU will need a lot to go right for that to happen.

one person says we will win and all of a sudden the whole board is cocky?? most of us have given WU credit over and over again, we think you guys are good...don't lump as all into one group because one guy is thinking we will when if we play you guys again...chances are he was just overly excited after how well we played last night and will come back to earth soon and realize what he said...

WU is good...if we play you guys again I believe it will be one heck of a game

Hey, LU played a heck of a game yesterday. That's all there is to it, and I hope we don't make anything more out of it. Before we start awarding ourselves the championship, let's make sure that we didn't peak last night. I remember feeling confident two years ago, and then getting beaten by Chuck South in the 1st round of the tourney.

That was not LU's best game of the year. Maybe its best half of the year in the first half, but nowhere near its best game of the year.

I think realist is feeling just a tad bit insecure because deep down he knows that last night was a huge confidence builder for LU. The Flames walk away from this one knowing that they can come back to Rock Hill and pound Winthrop out of the NCAA's and into the NIT!

In addition, WU only got a small dose of Brewington last night; Mclean apparently got schooled in the post again by Bradshaw and co.; Holland, who will disrupt the playmaking of Gaynor, was held out; and yet the game went down to the wire.

Gregg Marshall may need to bring a change of underwear for the rematch.

McLean may have gotten schooled, but he also got benched for running his mouth.

A lot of you are starting to sound like many of the jerks from WU. The last time that I looked LU was still in 4th place in the conference and with just 1 more HPU win they will probably stay there. Consequently, you may get your wish and face WU in the 2nd round of the tournament.

panfan, you're an idiot.

We want to finish third so that we can face HPU in the 2nd round and not face Winthrop until the championship game.

Let me put that in panfan terms:

Wii wont two feinsh therd sew dat we can fase HPU (KOL!) in da 2nd rownd and not fase Whenthrup until the championchip game.

Jerks?

It's called giving credit where credit is due. Nobody is saying we're going to walk through the Big South tournament. Some of us had been crying for some improvements on the court and we got them. It's validation that this team can compete with anyone on the court. As I said earlier, nothing more and nothing less.

Panfan, thanks for visiting our board and sharing your thoughts. Most of us welcome and respect your opinions. Those who don't, well, they should just sit quietly in their Compasses and play with their...I-Pods.

look panfan I'll put it in furnature terms for you. HPU is a lot like a a coffee table. Everybody used to have one but they're selling less and less these days. LU is like an ottoman. Getting to be very popular and is gradually replacing the coffee table altogether in the living room. WU is the Couch. Still the king of the living room that everybody hopes to knock off. Good luck the rest of the way coffee table.

It takes a lot to offend me, so no harm done. I'll just consider the source and continue. LU is playing good ball right now and I'm impressed with the talent but the fact remains that LU is in 4th place and from an HPU perspective we would prefer that they remain in 4th place. As for the little D-Wads who took personal shots, you would make great WU fans and that might be a step up. Is it not amazing what is done in the name of -----??????????????????????????????????

Nope, you got it wrong. Realist would rather face LU than HP or CCU in the second round b/c LU gave them their best effort and couldn't win, at least that's my personal opinion on it, I could be wrong.
