as far as a recruit where it is widely known he has committed, this doesn't exactly qualify as sensitive information that should be kept quiet...NCAA mandates that coaches cannot discuss recruits and signees but obviously it is good for the program for that information to be out there

Actually once the letter of intent arrives on campus, the staff can talk at will. I assume if the LOI is in RMc's possession, then we'll hear something about it rather shortly.

thanks for the clarification Sly, accidentally left the "until LOI is on campus" part out

I like this recruit. We really need consistent shooters. Kind of reminds me of a kid who played for Gonzaga. In looks anyway.

We all know that McKay's teams like to shoot the 3. The more the merrier.

From a recruiting story in the Louisville fishwrap:
Anderson to Liberty

Warren Central guard Jeremy Anderson, a member of The Courier-Journal's first-team All-State team, picked Liberty over Texas Christian, Air Force and Montana.

The 6-4 Anderson was sold on new Liberty coach Ritchie McKay, hired from New Mexico.

"What set them apart was the coaching staff, because not only are they good coaches but good people. It wasn't a tough decision for me after I made a trip to Liberty," Anderson said. "I knew that's where I wanted to go."

Anderson is Warren Central's leading career scorer and is one of two players in state history to compete in five Sweet 16s.

...impessive article.... The kid seems like a winner: 5 sweet sixteens, KY All-State, and he chose LU and McKay over opportunities with AFA and TCU.

He seems like a leader. I wonder if he plays the one? Either way, we will be loaded at all three guard positions. In addition, Baker has the potential to have a strong perimeter game at the four.

In the Big South you can win with a couples "bigs" like Alex, Rell, and Russ to compliment very good guard play. Coastal proved that in 06. Coach McKay likes the up-tempo stuff, so for that, we need athletic bigs that can shoot the ball to go along with the guard.

We really only had one big in our last run to the BS title. And I'm not so sure I count Leo as a "big"

Due to anti-Hankinson sentiment, and that is somewhat understandable, Sarchet gets vastly underrated by this website.

Sarchet was an outstanding player, who was recruited by Hankinson.

Not under rated by me though. 14-14 in the championship game was unforgettable!

we may need him more than we thought, (if that's possible) losing Brew :?

He certainly stands to see more P.T. than if Brew were around, but I would say he will still be the backup to BJ at the 2.

I like BJ at the two.. we're going to have a lot of drive and dish, which can only help Baker with his spot and shoot (cue TBGBGGBGBGBGB).

It appears Jeremy is going to be on campus sooner than you might think. Its a very good move IMHO:
All-Star coaches looking for a few good boys, girls

The Courier-Journal

Ron Bevars' quest to find what he called "12 angry young men" will begin tonight at Georgetown College.

That's when tryouts for the Kentucky All-Star basketball teams will start, and Bevars will be the head coach for a Bluegrass State squad that is trying to snap a five-game losing streak in its annual summer series with Indiana.

At least three players declined invitations because of prior commitments or injuries -- Male's Douglas Beaumont (football), Clark County's Tristan Jones (injury) and Warren Central's Jeremy Anderson (summer school at Liberty University).

Yes indeed after they grew tired of Wilmington. Georgetown is also the home of Toyota USA.

But we are once again getting :offtopic

I think it's a good idea too. He can familiarize himself with the campus and get into the strength and conditioning program. I hope this means there will be other players taking classes and working out/playing hoops together during the summer.

Having Jeremy on campus, spending more time with McKay and the assistants can only help in the long run. I like it.

Anderson is coming as advertised. The kid is supposed to be all about commitment and he is certainly showing it here. Bannister, Anderson, and Jenkins should see the majority of the backcourt minutes at the 1 and 2. This is an exceptional trio that should be able provide real leadership and consistant playmaking next season.
