We were actually at the top of the CUSA standings for a few hours yesterday (tied with Jax St at 10-4, but with the better overall record). The Gamecocks squeeked out the win over UTEP later to go back up by a half game.

All that said, I love this teams heart and character. Hope that we can figure out how to free up our post guys to work off the ball more than with it. CP0 is a great playmaker and sets up everyone around him. That is our strength.

jmclaughlin as you know each game brings different challenges from the one before. As you know by watching these games LU players tend to take what is given each night out. I totally agree with you on the defense glass we need to not allow opposing teams to get offensive rebounds and cut down on careless turnovers. Those 2 things will cause you to lose games, but we found a way to win Saturday afternoon. Which really is a recipe for a great team. Go LU lets win CUSA tournament and go dancing in the hardest conference Mens Basketball has ever played in.

Re: Zach and Owen from Saturday, yes they struggled and didn’t have their best game, but that is likely due to them being sick last week leading into the game as Coach McKay discussed.

Apparently several coaches and staffers have also been ill. Hopefully this will have run it's course before we play the Gamecocks Thursday. Really glad this is happening while we are on a home stand. I can imagine it would be much harder to deal with on the road.

I'd also point out what a relief it is to be back at a point of normalcy where a few people getting sick doesn't result in mass panic and cancelling of games.

Just read my previous post. I didn't like it. Instead of downvoting myself, i just eliminated most of it. This Hoops season has been a blast and i love this team! March basketball begins early, Thursday. Will be a blast win or lose with this squad.
