Yea, we should be closing on the house next week. We got an amazing deal when we signed the lease last year but rent's going up a ton and we've found a house at a great price. I'll be off of Campbell Ave in a few weeks.

Plus my car was broken into twice in the matter of 5 days so it's a good time to get out of here.

Well i dont know exactly where you are moving, but "off campbell ave" doesn't exactly sound like the safest place to me.

Anyway i am in for at least the $10, but i agree with Scorcho i believe it was, i think we can do a little more. Nice idea.

Are you serious Rocket? I know there are some bad streets in every city but Lynchburg has very little violent crime whatsoever. Even the "rough" neighborhoods in Lynchburg really don't seem that bad to me. I have seen some unsafe neighborhoods. My neighborhood in Philly turned that way years after I was well established in VA. I don't think SJ has anything to worry about on Campbell ave. There are a lot of brothas but lots of brothas does not necessarily mean lots of crime (not that you were implying that Rocket, just pointing that out). Go to South East DC or SW Philly or some neighborhoods in Brooklyn and the Bronx then compare Campbell ave to that. I guess it is all about perspective. The SJ Fortress of Solitude will be fine.

I would seriously conatct Bob Goode regarding the rules for groups to join, There are going to be a few minor changes in next years program and I would want to get a ruling before implementing your fantastic idea. Although I have made a personal pledge for next year, I will be glad to help out here as well. It is for a great cause as we all know.

I know exactly what you're talking about, but we're in a good section of it. It's an older neighborhood that's been kept up pretty good over the years.

SCAR - I know what you mean. It's like Lynchburg's Crime Capital of the US. You want stories about bad neighborhoods - ask me sometime about getting lost in SE DC at dusk for 2 hours, or driving through college park in Tampa and getting an 8 ball thrown through my window.

It was hilarious the last couple of years to read about the gang activity in the burg. 10 kids meet in a parking lot a night, and all of a sudden, it's Gangland:)

Lynchburg does have it's areas though - when I first came to Lynchburg I delivered papers downtown to make ends meet, and for that year of doing that, I had to be offered to buy drugs more than a dozen times and propositioned by a prostitute 1/2 a dozen times. But it felt like my hometown of Tampa, because most of those happened on Florida Street.

Campbell Ave is fine, you drive down the road for 4 minutes and theres a few homes worth a lot of money, heck one has 2 indoor tennis courts...it's a great location, hop on 460 and your at school within 4 minutes, you'll enjoy it

If you want to have some fun, drive around downtown Norfolk at 3-4am.

You can find drug sales, slap a 20 on the windshield and see how many prostitues you can fend off in 30 minutes, gang fights, and if you're lucky, might even have your car jacked.

My wife used to live on or near Campbell ave in college and told me some stories is all.....heck i thought i was safe living on Memorial real close to fort ave...until my car got broken into and a crack pipe was left in my car.........
I have been to SW philly and i am not comparing it to lynchburg in anyway. I wasn't saying that it was unsafe like he was going to get murdered or anything, just that in certain areas around that road his car is just as likely to get broken into......hope that is more clear.
