7-24. No tourney wins.

I'd like to point out that minus the Coastal win. I'm pretty much on the money so far.
Considering no other prior Liberty team, including my own has been able to win in Farmville, I'd say that you may be off there. We shall see. I would love to see them go there and win though. You may be pretty close with the final record. I would like to see them get to at least 10.

I watched some of the game last night. Dawson is pretty solid. I also wish he was less casual with the ball. I see growth with this group though. Maxwell has taken a step back from what I saw earlier in the season but it is probably more about being near the top of the scouting report than anything else. He will have to adjust and read better. Be patient. Assess whether there is a double or not. See where it is coming from. Then attack if it is one on one or find the open guy if it is a double. Guards need to make themselves available to him by relocating and giving him someone to pass to....Longwood has an enthusiastic fan base despite their lack of success at this level for several years now. I'd love to see the Liberty student body have that same desire. Given the population difference, the Vines would be pretty full on the student side if that were the case.

Yesterday was the first game I watched extensively and my biggest gripe is the same I had with Layer's teams.

The offense starts way too high and we don't have much going towards the basket. Part of that is our lack of post depth but we can't rely on swinging the ball on the outside and settle for as many jump shots.

Seriously, someone should start a rival nacho or snack stand with a custom menu. I thought all things that were related to poor customer service appalling business left the Vines LAST year :P

I believe the Sodexo Mafia still controls the concession sales. They are almost as bad as the Barnes and Nobles Cartel used to be and probably still is with merchandising

Yeah, we're not winning in Farmville this year. Longwood has a pretty deep alumni base w/ many students that are 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th generation. The alumni and students don't just support the athletic department, they support the school and each other. The Longwood community is pretty close-knit and that's what gives the fan base its enthusiasm.

I feel Liberty will get there eventually, but the school isn't even 50 years old yet. Another 20-25 years and we may have a similar type of community.

Flamerz, don't worry about these guys. Trust me, every person on this board is very happy to have Dawson on our squad. He is without a doubt our top player and our season changed for the better when he arrived on the court.

Everyone has their favorite, some times you know or get to know the player or their style of play is what you like or how you played. That being said, turnovers are always a frustrating point for fans and coaches. I really don't have a problem with Dawson or Cabbil's turnovers. With the guys we have out there and the walk it up style of play, we are consistently having to make a play with the shot clock running down. Plus the lack of post production (would love to get the aggressive Evan from the early season back) and the lack of ability of most of the guys to beat their man, it really leaves a couple guys trying to make something out of nothing. Of course, you don't want to have a high turnover count but this team needs Dawson and Cabbil to be aggressive on the offensive end. If that means the turnover count is up, then we have to live with it.

As far as this game goes, the execution late or lack thereof was rough. Good news is they found a way to win it while getting some valuable experience about how to hold on to a close lead late. It's all a learning process right now and this game should go a long way in helping these guys develop.

On to the High Point game with pretty low expectations. I did watch the High Point vs Winthrop game and HP looked very beatable. It would take an amazing effort but hopefully we can just find a way to keep it close until the final 10 minutes.
