I have maintained contact and a friendship with him since he left and I know the high esteem he has for the Liberty program. This is not surprising at all. There is still a part of me that feels like we should wait until 1 PM to hear for sure since this is April Fools Day but so many legitimate outlets are reporting it. I think this has the potential to be a really good hire. There's a lot of baggage to get over, but if he can bring his offense with Bennett's defense, we could have some fun. I admit I'm an optimist so I always try to find the good first, but I don't see this as being a bad hire.

2) We went for bigger guys and they turned us down so we went to Ritchie.

The crazy part about "several national outlets" reporting this is that they all could indeed have the same individual source. All it takes is one guy to stir up sh*t, and today's the perfect day to do it.

My point is, multiple reports that cite "sources" don't automatically suggest corroboration.

The April Fools thing is just crazy to me. I know its that time of year. But for him to announce Leaving and Returning on April 1st.

If he is the coach, and the national media will say that Liberty Swung and Missed on several big names, and Ritchie was all we could get. The fact that Ritchie was on the search last year and couldnt land a gig, and Liberty was his best offer this year, If thats all the case, I LIKE IT. Liberty (athletics staff) and Mckay have a chip coming in and have something to prove.

Im so excited to be back in the Vines for good basketball again.

PS. until 1pm Im not sure there isnt more to this hire than just Ritchie.

That answers my question from a few weeks ago: our job really isn't a good job right now.
