I don't have a problem with shooters. The way I see it, if youre taking 70 shots from the field a game, ideally you get 35 shots from the perimeter and 35 on midrange and closer. Will it work out that way? more likely than not, no. I would be fine with 55-65 percent in one direction as long as you convert a high percentage.

This isn't football. You can't script where you get your shots. And why take a 17' when you can step back for a 3 pointer? You play the game with the players you have

And regardless of where you shoot, converting a high percentage makes any offense look great

1st of all PH -- regarding the seniors on the floor at the end. I agree to an extent, but let's be realistic. James Johnson. really James Johnson not on the floor and you are whining...how many senior nights has he had already? He's a 1 year transfer, hes lucky to be playing on team this year. he isn't a typical 4 year senior they showed him enough respect to start the game.

2nd - is BJ and the shooting 3's comments... dude DO NOT EVER MAKE NEGATIVE COMMENTS or slight what VMI has done by shooting 3's .... Duggar ball has produce more wins and higher conference finishes and more tournament wins than half the Big South schools combined... VMI is at a major recruiting disadvantage where thay cant take a 1 year James Johnson type and still out perform Liberty, 'all day' - except for a lucky tourney run 2 years ago. even the 'savior' himself ritchie Mckay got his a$$ drilled on Smitty's senior night by the Keydets. If Liberty would learn to shoot 3's maybe they would have a fighting chance in the up and down Big South. if you can't recruit size you must neutralize! only way to do that is 3 point line!

In the words of HRC 'What difference does it make?" Whether it was 1 year. Or 2 Or 3? None. 0. Zip. Nada. The kid was recruited here. Put in the work everyone else did all year and played what was his last home game. If you want to run a quality program you RESPECT that. You respect that kid as a player. I'll throw it back to you: why not put him in the game after Drew fouled out? It's little things like that which make all the difference between a good program and a bad program. It was a bush league move by ny measure. Saying 'He already had one' is a complete and total cop out.

Umm you do know Liberty has two more Big South titles than VMI right?

the titles mean nothing when you constantly lose 20 games, rarely get to 60 points, and fan base comes to games once every 2 months. like I said recruiting disadvantage. a guy had to be creative to help his program compete and he did that, unfortunately LU hasn't even been competitive in the last 3 years.

To be clear. I'm not saying he should have been on the floor because of performance. I'm saying he should have been on the floor because he was a senior. If the game was in doubt, then I have no problem keeping him on the bench. But the game was not in doubt

Who defines 'minor'? There is a reason there is a 'hand check' rule. There is also a trend in the last decade to get away from advantage/disadvantage officiating

A foul is a foul, called or not. Refs are paid to call fouls. If they see one and call it, they're doing their job.

Calling 57 fouls in a game is too many. It's like holding in football, it could probably be called on every play. Common sense has to prevail. No one wants a game to become a FT shooting contest.

Then the players should quit fouling. LU was actually trying to foul about the last 8 minutes of the game

I believe there was only a 1 foul difference between the number of fouls on both teams. The game took almost 30 minutes longer than normal to play. It should not take 2 1/2 hours to play a 40 minute game.
