It may appear that he does, but he will not resign on his own. He might be fired or he might resign, but, either way, he is gone barring a miracle.

Looking over at the Colorado State boards and the fallout over the Layer years. A lot of the same things going on here (tons of JC transfers, 3-5 non DI games every year, bizarre rotations). It looks like it took CSU 4 years to completely recover what Layer essentially destroyed. I fear that if we don't cut bait soon, we are heading down the same path. I knew this was coming starting the 2010-2011 season with the Evan Gordon situation during the GMU game (A loss by 30 at home).

I miss exciting basketball (even if we lose)
I don't miss exciting basketball if we lose...I saw the heartbreaking losses to CCU and Arkansas State when I was in undergrad. Don't miss that disappointing/frustrated feeling.

I'm with Manson...I miss winning (Division I games).

Well the good news is this program hasn't seen consisting winning in its D1 history so you can't possibly be missing it too badly. Longing for it on the other hand. Thats another story.

We also haven't finished with 60 losses in 3 straight seasons or finished with consecutive 300+ RPI seasons ... well, ... until Layer

Valid point. Let's just not pretend as if this program has ever seen sustained success. I hope this offseason we see a serious change in direction. I always feel bad because layer is such a nice guy but this is well beyond what is acceptable.

It is going to take a very good coach to get us to respectability in even 3-5 years. We have fallen a loooooooooooooong way from the Aluma/Hildebrand years.

Don't disagree, but when have we ever had that type of player actually show up and stay at LU? Never. :?

Its more possible now than ever though. The campus and school has never been more attractive. Literally everything about liberty is on the rise and improving outside of this program. For 3 years running weve had all the spare parts that we sorely needed when had anthony smith/seth. We haf the stars that could fill it up then but had no role players. Now weve had the exact opposite the last couple years. I actually think you could turn it around next year if you could find that star or 2. So frustrating.

There is so much wrong with this team that we would need more than one star player to turn the program around (which by my definition is competing for the Big South championship). If we added one player of John Brown's caliber to our roster, we would finish near the middle of the standings but I doubt that we would win the championship.

The main problem in 2008-09 was that we were very young. Of course several players could have been upgraded, but the core for the future was there.

Right now, I don't see any future core of players to build on. Just lots of bench players getting playing time with a couple exceptions.
