Yeah that 2004 team had some athletes. My group had a few guys that played on the rim but not like the others mentioned. I don't know Alston's official dunk number but I don't remember a game when he didn't have at least 1 or 2. In 3 seasons I had 14 which was pretty decent for a guy that didn't play more than 20 min per game until my senior season.

Hildo's played with one group that was pretty athletic with Keith Ferguson, Jody Chapman, Julius Nwoso and Michigan St Transfer Parrish Hickman. But the backcourt of Hildo and Toomer brought down the athletic quotient a bit :D :P

Picking the 2015 recruiting class discussion back up, Cole Harper, a six foot six SG we offered after he attended our camp has committed to Minnesota State. With Holmsley on board we're probably set at shooting guard anyway.

2 other players we offered have committed to other schools.

6'6" SF Robert Franks to Washington State
6'7" SF Emmanuel Nzekwesi to Weber State

We have 3 scholarships available. I don't expect us to use all 3 this fall. We have offered 2 JUCO bigs. Signing at least one of them will be a high priority and JUCO players generally wait til Spring to commit.

Big weekend coming up with several recruits on campus. Hopefully we will have some good news in the next week or so.

How do we use those 3 scholarships we have left (assuming Holmesly signs)? I think we need to go after a PG. The fact that Layer has said that Moller will probably slide over to the point when Retic needs a rest pretty much means that Hoffman and Dembley aren't ready (if they ever will be). It's possible Moller could become the full time PG when Retic graduates, but it looks like we will still need depth. The Maitland kid could be a great pickup. Interesting that he has said we are in his "final 4" but verbalcommits doesn't show us as having offered yet. Those guys are usually on top of things like that. Even though we are losing both starting forwards, I think with Andoh, Theo Johnson, Talbert and Reid, we have talent coming back. The rapid emergence of Maxwell is great news, but we are losing a ton of size. I would think we will try hard to sign 2 of the 6 bigs we have offered with the remaining scholarships.

That would be what the doctor ordered.
Trey visited last weekend. Apparently he was the basketball recruit JB mentioned in his interview with FlamesNation.

Jordan Dallas, a 6'10" PF we have offered out of Long Beach, CA has committed to Weber State. The list of players for 2015 we have offered that are still "available" has shrunk to 7. 2 of those are JUCO bigs I wouldn't expect to sign til next Spring. Still 3 schollies available.

While I get your point, our team really is not as young as one may think. 6 of our 12 scholarship players are upperclassmen. This includes 5 of our 7 frontcourt players.

Well, we now know who will be taking up the slack for all the size we will lose to graduation next year. Our European pipeline continues with 6'9" German Robin Jorch and 6'11" Pole Jakub Karwowski, who went to the same academy as Gielo.

One scholarship left, and looking at the roster for next year I would not be surprised if we hold onto that one for 2016. We actually only have 6 open offers for 2015 still listed on verbalcommits. 3 of them are at the SG position where we are now already 5 deep and 2 are JUCO bigs, a need which we appear to have filled yesterday. The other is Aleer Leek, a skinny 6'9" F from the Sudan who is prepping this year at Victory Rock in FL. He is an interesting prospect because he can step out and shoot the 3. We also look set at the 3, 4 and 5, and if Moller continues to demonstrate that he is a capable backup at the point when we face D1 competition, we should be OK there with the 2 Freshmen on board for further depth. Of course, with the way Joyce and Layer have been working the Euro academies, we could fill that last schollie with someone totally off the radar screen like Moller, Jorch and Karwowski.
