I'm not saying score 110 or 95 or even 89.... Just get to 75 every 3rd game or so.
Does no one on this board agree with me or is everyone afraid of PH??

Bigsouthking wrote:I would rather talk offense/defense than RD/Meyer etc on the thread. At least offense/defense pertains to winning games. Somewhere Trap Speakes is saying, see I knew they would miss me.Agreed on the 1st part of your post. As someone who has worked in the trenches figuratively speaking of course, with both of those guys, I am certainly ready to move past all that talk about the past.

To me, whenever I see that many games with a common denominator, I immediately rule out any chance for a coincidence. Thus, I believe that there is a certain reason as to why we have lost 13 close games. You've ruled out a potential reason, being talent, to which I agree with you. So, here is my question. What is the reason? What specific thing or things could you pinpoint as being the main reason that we have lost so many close games?I am the 1%

What is the reason? What specific thing or things could you pinpoint as being the main reason that we have lost so many close games? It is difficult to say. Extraordinary teams like Michigan State, Syracuse, Duke all play in tough close games like that throughout the year but they seem to come out on top more often than not. I think everyone plays their share of these types of games in a given year. When you lose a few of those close ones early, psychologically you have a disadvantage because you start thinking "here we go again". Once again I won't get into the Offense/Defense debate but I will say this: Good teams can score when they really need to score at big moments and Stop people when they absolutely have to stop people. In my humble opinion this team struggles to stop people when they absolutely have to stop people in key possessions. Offensively at key times, when they do get shots, they just have not gone for them.
SCAR wrote:Thanks for the reply Scar. I don't really care about the offense/defense debate either. That whole debate is stupid and pointless. I agree with you on the psychological part of the game effecting our play in the final minutes. That's where I think the culture of a school's athletic program could override early failure and still provide motivation towards the end of a struggling season. Which is part of the reason why I am fed up with the culture of our athletic program.VAGolf wrote:Scar, seeing as you have more credit than 99% of us on here, I'm just curious. I don't have the answers. These are just observations from my seat.
