The funny thing is you believe that! Hahaha1 Longwood?! Realoy!?You're kidding right?! If we can only dominate Longood, what does that say about us!? The truth is we need a real coach, a real team, oh, and a mentally sane fanbase!

I actually watched this game, thank you ESPN3(the ocho). Longwood gave up by the 8 minute mark of the second half. I could see their post players just standing around letting guys cut into the post unobstructed. This game was hard to watch.

It was that terrible. I think for about 10 minutes of the first half, was probably the worst basketball in history being played. Both teams just looked completely awful and clueless. Liberty then got their act together and immediately took control. It was actually strange as all 5 of their guys seemed to be able to get to the hoop regularly, but they just couldn't finish. They were missing some really easy layups. Pretty awesome that we didn't even let them get to 50. Sommy looked good in garbage time. I know he's pretty useless on offense at this point but I really think he needs a few minutes a game just for his shot blocking.

Best part of the game was watching Longwood fans have to move 3 times. They came in mass in four short busses and parked themselves in the reserved padded seats across from the Longwood bench. An army of LU ushers told them they had to relocate, so all of them just moved to the top of the reserved padded seats in the same section. Here comes the army of users to move them again.

Next, they hopped the black metal chain and sat across the isle in the blue seats next to the red padded seats, but for whatever reason they moved again, this time right next to the Liberty pep band. Not sure why, but most of them brought dining trays for the Longwood cafeteria and either banged them together like cymbals or banged them on our nice blue seats. :?

It says a lot about their enthusiasm for a very poor team. We need some of that injected into our fan base. The good news is we have a pulse!!!

They even had T shirts made up for the trip. It was adorable. I wish they had done a better job with their signs. I couldn't tell what they said. One of them was a WWJD acronym that I'm sure wasn't what would Jesus do

I guess you can make the argument that Longwood doesn´t have football, and therefore basketball is the sport their fan base is going to be passionate about. Now that we have established a high degree of enthusiasm and a bit of tradition in football, I wonder what LU fans would do if FB had a year as bad as Longwood is having in BB.

Really its about finding somebody with that kind of passion as a freshman and they finding people they can share that passion with. SJ could come on here and share his story of how the LUnatics here got started, but itll be hard to find one person that a) has that kind of pro-LU passion and b) has the time and drive to put together something of the quality that SJ, BrysOn_G, JDUB and the rest of the gang had

A fanbase can be passionate for more than one sport.

Its their first year in a new conference and its a close trip. Then factor in they have no football team, see if it continues year after year

Consider the competition. Just sayin

You are the one who wants to fire the coach and I'm the poopy head :dontgetit I put up several emoticons showing my joy at winning this game? Where is your 'Flare'? :D
Longwood was not a good team last night so yeah some players will look great, just like they do against D2 andNAIA schools. It's when they step up in caliber of competition that cracks in the armor appear.

i may want a new coach, but dang a win is a win and i will take it. casey roberts was actually playing well in the early part of the season and then disappeared thus my comment of consistency.

I'm happy for the win. To quote Nuke LeLouch 'Winning is awesome. It's better than you know like losing!'
But here is my poopy pants observation, Ty FN

JC Sanders took 17 shots. No other Flame took more than 7.

Saturday is a big one for us. If we have a performance like we did against CCU and pull off the win, itll do wonders for confidence Im sure.

Pretty easy analysis actually..
Longwood went 9 of 23 from 3 pt land at UNCA (while the Bulldogs went 1 for 12 that game)

Last night the Lancers went 2 of 15 from 3 pt land... so thats a 21 point difference right there..

Supposedly that was Sommy's first dunk since the knee injury. He couldnt dunk in practice supposedly because he had it in his mind since the injury that he was limited so that was big. Info from sources that know sommy personally. Then he followed that up with at least 2 big blocks.

Good for Sommy. As a 20-something, the biggest issue after surgery and proper rehab is overcoming a lack of confidence. As a 40-something, the biggest issue is overcoming a lack of cartilage. Right, PurpleHaize?
