Parrish was a great player and a nice person but definitely not a Liberty guy. He only saw the inside of a classroom in rare instances and also had an affinity for weight loss products.

Marco was special. Freak of an anthete, unbelievable passer, and a decent scorer that would have been a bigger scorer if he wasn't playing with such a talented group. Top it off he was the best on the ball defender I have ever seen at Liberty next to maybe Chris Toomer.

This thread is pretty cool and got me thinking of how Liberty's all-time team would fare against other all-time teams in the state. I was thinking about what the starting five would look like for Longwood on my drive to work:

PG- Brandon Giles ('08)
SG- Kevin Jefferson ('91)
SF- Charles Stephens ('03)
PF- Jerome Kersey ('84)
C- Colin Ducharme ('01)

Bench
Antwan Carter, C ('12)
Maurice Sumter, SF ('07)
Dana Smith, SF ('10)
Jimmy Yarbrough, SG ('80)

I think it would be a close one...

That's great but this is posted in Liberty's men's hoops forum. If you want to start a thread on IU's all time starting lineup we have a Non-LU sports forum or I think there's a Longwood blog. I'm sure you'll get a lot of discussion on it over there.

Thanks Captain PeckerHead, I don't know if you missed this part:

I apologize for adding to the discussion and pondering how Liberty's hypothetical fantasy team would play against other teams from around the state. Clearly my post had nothing to do with Liberty at all. Keep raining the hate.

It's a discussion board.

And remember, you're talking about Liberty, not the Heat. Don't let your hubris over your overrated NBA team spill into your WAY overrated college basketball team. I'm going to join RVA in celebrating LU's first win over LU in conference play, which I think will come sooner rather than later.

Just tired of the delusional thoughts and comments, as if LU is some dominant force that is looking down over all the other Lowly Big South teams.

In money, sure that's true. But on the field of play in most sports, it's just not true.

And my all-time starting lineup would be:

Players from '94 and '04.

And you have to say Hildo is the GOAT, great numbers, and team success.

I think he is saying (and I appreciate the sarcasm PH) that his lineup would only be players from our two championship teams and I guess that basically everyone else stinks

Hey the reality that in the middle of Conference play for a 2.5 million dollar men's basketball program in an NCAA D1 conference that lead message board thread is a point less discussion on the all time great roster clearly show how this AD has failed. We should be bleeding red, white and blue battling for a NCAA bid nope we are just bleeding...

I know. If only our AD had the wisdom to keep JM!
And if indeed our basketball budget IS 2.5 million that is not all that much, especially if you put coaches salaries into that mix. I know that Kentucky's recruiting budget is over 1 million. And that's just the legal stuff!

Ask the rest of the Big South coaches how they would like to have the LU budget. I believe Lang said we spend more the JMU, VCU, ODU and George Mason.

Probably easier to swallow than the results of our program.
