UNCA draws UALR in a play in game. Crappy, but not unexpected. I hope they show well after the good year the Big South had.....

Off topic...I know VT getting screwed again will please and at the same time upset many on this board. Frankly how you put Penn State with 14 losses in, and at a 10 seed as well ahead of VT or Clemson is a JOKE.

Penn State actually made it to the Championship game of their conference. Not so VT or Clemson. Plus what has VT done since beating Duke? Add to that they really only have 6 players it isn't TOO suprising.
Let's go BULLDOGS

Isn't Arkansas-Little Rock the same team that beat Winthrop last year?

Dickey shows out on a national stage, scored 14 of UNCA's last 18 in regulation, he and Primm each had 22....here's hoping they can give Pitt fits on Thursday.

Don't say the Big South is a joke of a league -- last night UNCA got a win over a Sun Belt school.

The BSC doesn't have the greatest budgets or biggest arenas, but they have good coaches and really solid players. Its a basketball league and very competitive.

Dickey is the run away choice for pre-season player of the year next season.

I don't know about run away choice. He'll be one of the favorites but Jesse Sanders will still be in the league.

The Sun Belt has been an overrated basketball conference for quite sometime. Everybody knows about Western Kentucky... and who else is actually any good? South Alabama has been good in the past. That's all I can really think of. North Texas usually gets to the tourney, but they haven't won any games.

I know Jesse will be in the league and so will Nick Barbour -- but the way Dickey finished the year strong BSC tournament and winning the game last night, everyone will remember that.

Dickey
Sanders
Barbour
Coleman
Holloway - if he's back

I'd put Kelvin Martin over Barbour.

All Barbour does is score. He doesn't defend particularly well. He doesn't pass. He doesn't rebound. If he's not scoring, he's doing nothing to help his team.

Dickey's money thing is he can and will shoot from just about anywhere (and hit most of the time). I do think that he will be in the top 3 for PoY going into next year

I agree with this as well.. when your considering individual accolades, it is tough to split these 2 players since they have so many similarities in what they do for UNCA- however when you hit game winning/tying shots in big time situations it obviously leaves an impression.

Martin is an interesting possibility. He's basically the same player as John Brown, who actually had better numbers this year, but with Jamarco gone, Martin should get a lot more scoring opportunities next year. Having Jesse on the team makes it tough for JB to get recognition for something like POY.

I took a peek at the CCU board for the first time in quite a while this morning and can report that it is now pretty much official that Holloway has played his last game for the Chants. He has signed with an agent, and hopes to play in Europe.

Yeah I saw that the other day. Further evidence of his/CCU's guilt.

Slight clarification....Dreher was not arrested or charged with anything last year. He, along with every other person that was on the scene where a former player was arrested on a drug possession charge, was mentioned in the police report, but he was not charged with anything or arrested. He was suspended by Peele for some reason due to that incident, but it was never specified why he and Corbin were suspended, while a couple of other players mentioned in the police report were not.

Now going forward, I think this will be pretty cut-and-dry. If there is any truth to these charges, he'll likely see jail-time, almost certainly will be kicked out of WU, and Peele won't have any choice in the matter anyway. If this proves to be a Duke Lacrosse type of made up accusation, then I don't see any reason why he would need to be kicked off the team.

My apologies. The way I read the herald article, it sounded like this was his 3rd arrest.
