We need to play better if we plan to, and especially if we want to win more than one game. Four games ago we talked about having a shot to win the BSC tournament; now we are "keeping in mind" that we are playing High Point in round 1. I'm with you on that, but there is no escaping that this was not a good showing.
We can beat High Point. We've done it twice already.
olldflame wrote:Pretty negative to expect us to lose at home to High Point the way they played tonight. Lost 64-40 to G-W.Not "expecting" it; just saying we need to play better. I think HP will play better than they did tonight too (although I hope they don't).

We have one of the craziest and loudest places to play right now and only one team in conference as managed to win there this year and that was CCU. I was disappointed in the result tonight as well but there is no need to wave the French white flag of surrender.BJ, I don't think anyone is surrendering, and I know that you and crew will be cheering like crazy on Tuesday (me too, although I personally would look really weird with a bandana on - old guy, glasses, bandana....no!).

I know this may seem like an odd time given where we've come from. There was something about knowing what we are now, a large modern university, and seeing us crumble in what looks like my high school gym to this tiny college, it really tore at what my perception and perhaps delusions are about our school. How are we this far ahead of these tiny little schools in everything it is supposed to take to win, and yet we consistently crumble in football, basketball, and other sports year after year? How are we not absolutely dominating every sport in the Big South with our facilities and budget? The AD is the problem!
I know I'm emotional and likely overreacting. I just hate losing to these peons when we are supposedly becoming big time, and it's starting to get embarrassing. Like an overhyped prospect thats all flash and no substance, I wonder what out great facilities and big budget really have gotten us?
