The season tickets for basketball are WAY too expensive.

I am a season ticket holder, and I give to flamefans at the $250 level so I can get the blue lot parking pass. I have reserved seats about 8 rows behind the visitor's bench. There is one family one row below us...I think in our entire section there are probably 20 season ticket holders.

For the whole vines...I would guess that there were maybe 300 season ticket holders.

Next year, I probably won't buy season tickets. It's just not that much of a savings.

If they really wanted to get in some outside people...beef up the concension stands (actually have two open, instead of one, or one and somekind of table...how highschool esq is that)...and make the season tickets extremely cheap...blue GA $30 for the year...the red seats $40, and the blue seats $50...no flame membership required. Have separate pre-game dinners before the VMI, Coastal, and Radford games for the flameclub members at the $250 level or higher. Promote Flames bb as an affordable option for entertainment. You can still keep the gate price at $10 a ticket, etc...but actually promote the season tickets...

I mean, if an outsider can pay $5 to see hockey...why would he want to pay $10 to see basketball...the TICKETS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE...I ONLY GO BECAUSE I'M A TRUE FAN...we need CASUAL fans as well...cheaper tickets...even if not all the season tickets are used...hopefully sometimes they'll give them to someone else who will come.

It's insane that they put all of those nice comfy seats in that no one but people like me can buy b/c they're not $250 level giving members. It's empty over there...except when they promote something like...come back as an alumni and get reserved tickets for the GA price...o goodness, by that point no one even cares...even if you do call me 5 times about the same game.

I was at LU in the late Nineties, at which time we were ranked in the botttom of D-1. We would draw well for Radford, but would have done much better if we were competitive. LU is a sleeping giant. All we need is some success. Any program needs to win to draw well. If Duke was not a power like it is, Cameron Crazies would be students who were "crazy" to be at the game instead of many other activities.

Just to give you a comparison.....you can give $100 to the Bulldog Club a year, then you have the option of getting football or hoops tickets with it, which lessens the amount you can write off on taxes....big deal. The football tickets are GA, the hoops tickets are GA as well, but you can sit in the club section center court either upper or lower section.

So in essence, for a $100 gift, you can get 6 home football games and roughly 15 home mens and womens hoops games. 36 games roughly for $100? $3 a game? Value. :D
