Ya BJ I was. Depending on what year the Hawks were in town they still may not qualify as the best team to go to the Vines. Cave Springs? I think the Tigers are a little disappointed about the condition of our program. I am sure when the deal was made for the home and home we still had McKay and Curry etc. May end up being a let down game. I hope it isn't. Either way great exposure for the program.

Man have i heard that every year!! Clemson's going to be good every year, things are changing, we got some real talent this year... You guys started 40-0 last year and couldn't compete in the ACC. You will always be basement dwellers.

yes clemson chokes down the stretch of the season every year. i was telling people on here during the middle of last season they were going to do that but some of you would have nothing to do with it, and clemson did exactly what they always do - choke

That's the nicest thing you've ever said about Coastal! I'm proud of you man, you're making progress.

Actually it was 16-0. I am not sure why the trash talking came out so quick. Is this a good representation of the board that when a poster asks a legit question they get immediately trashed with inaccurate stats. The ugly truth of the matter and it pains me to say this as a LU alum is that these two programs are heading in opposite directions.

Since O.P. has been at Clemson our on the court performance has drastically improved as well as the recruiting. To my knowledege we have finished no worse than 5th in the conference and been seeded no worse than 7th in the NCAA tourney the past two years and all indications point to us having a better year this year. Recruiting is going very well as we brought in a five star and three four star guys last year, are in the running for 3 four star guys in the 010 class and are in the running for a five star and a couple of four stars in the 011 class.

On the flip side we have seen a mass exodus from Liberty's program in the past year. Our head coach left for an asst position at a below mediocre program (UVA) and our recruits/current players have followed him out of the program. IMHO Liberty doesn't have near the momentum as Clemson heading into this season. This game could prove very big for a program in desperate need of a spark.

I am like any other Clemson fan in that I am very disappointed with our performance down the stretch. That will change this year. Part of our problem is we were losing our legs down the stretch because we press so much. We are very deep this year so fatigue should not pose a problem.

Now back to my original question. Who is the best team to play in the Vines? Aside from the Cave Springs High School team, Harlem Globetrotters and the Atlanta Hawks.

What would a board be without a little drama:) I do think that Clemson has to prove themselves first before I jump on the bandwagon and yes, Bwall is correct - I pull for the team that you are always chasing:)

We're glad to have you on here. Best team - That's a tough question. Maybe Tech?

You refer to both Clemson and LU as "our" -- did you go to both schools?

What year did VaTech come in?

I did go to both. I am an avid Clemson fan and am very excited about what is happening at Liberty. I hope it continues.

Down year for us? Maybe not as good as last year, but I certainly wouldn't consider it a "down year". For like the 3rd or 4th year in a row it's gonna be a total crap shoot because of the ridiculous turnover we've got going.

It's definitely not a down year for us. At least this year everyone can shoot and have the "green light." It'll be a good game, that's for sure.

Who knows what this year will bring?! Last year I thought we had a legitimate chance to compete for the conference championship and we did. This year though, I don't have that same feeling.

We (LU) have definitely lost some ground relative to last year. I feel like the program has been set back at least 3 years.

That's just silly. Even this year, there are way too many new players and unknown factors to be making bold predictions either way. After what we've seen around here recently, 3 years is practically an eternity. This year's team will have more size and much more balanced scoring. If Layer can get them to play defense, we will be fine, and the 2010 recruiting class looks like it is shaping up very nicely.

If you tell Kyle Ohman "green light" he may average more shots than Jordan is his prime per game.

Absolutely. And this year we have Anderson, Perez, and Minaya just to name a few that are often lights out and they all have been working hard on defense ever since the year started.
