This class will not be ranked as high as 2 years ago because there are only 3, but in terms of quality, I think you could argue it's better. Bowen and Baird may be the highest rated players we have signed out of HS. Possible exception could be Marcus White, who was highly rated, but had academic issues.

That was one disturbing movie.
Sure was. In another year De Niro would have won an Oscar for his portrayal of incredibly evil rapist/stalker Max Cady. He had the misfortune to be up against Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lechter.

That's what people were saying about Seth too...
And he was. Just because he left doesn't mean he didn't change things around here.

I hate that. The further away we get from his visit, the lower our chances. I don't think we're the most attractive place for a top notch player to come, on paper. That's not to say that we don't have a good chance though. I think anytime anyone gets on campus we have an awesome chance.

That's a bit of a downer. I was hoping we would sign all 3 next month. I think that would even help this years team somewhat to know that more talent is coming and the future is bright. Well, I was pretty happy with the comittments fron JC and Baird before I heard about Bowen, and I still am.

Signing late isnt bad, i mean we just jumped in the picture w/ Bowen.

We got a visit, and he had a great great time here (previous rumors of a commitment) . He has a special relationshp w/ Layer. As you can see alot things are working in Liberty's favor.

Hopefully everything works out and Layer gets the LOI

I agree, but don't you think the odds of him deciding on us are better now than 2 days from now?

it's been quiet but here's an update w/ some of the schools that are after him.
The most recent addition, 6-6 senior Aaron Bowen (No. 37 shooting guard Scouts Inc.'s player rankings), checked in last week after transferring from Wolfson (Jacksonville, Fla.).

"I was looking for a place that will get me ready for the next level," said Bowen, who recently decommitted from Marquette. "We have talent; it's like playing on a college team."

Bowen, a slender wing, is now involved with Charlotte, Miami, Boston College, Clemson, Marshall, Liberty and Florida State

We definitely need to continue following this kid. A spring signing would be great but there is a long way to go and plenty that needs to happen before that can happen.

Hmm... compare these statements and tell me what it means:
Just to be clear, this is not a done deal yet. It looks very promising but some things still need to be worked out.
Word is he had a great visit but it won't be over soon. Think spring
.
Guys, spring is not necessarily bad news. He apparently had a GREAT time. Patience.

Scout has lowered him to 3 stars and has him at a high school in Mississippi. Rivals has him at a high school in Winston-Salem. Neither have him committed anywhere.

Aaron Bowen, SF, Quality Edcuation – Last weekend in Champaign he intrigued us. After seeing him twice in Florida, we are still debating him on the high major/mid-major fence. On the high side, he’s got a long, wiry 6-foot-6 frame, he’s capable of shooting it from deep and he’s a quality athlete. The knock on him is consistency. If he brings it night in and night out he’s a guy with an appealing ceiling.
Aaron Bowen, SF, Quality Education Academy- Former Marquette recruit is a good looking wing. Has decent size (at least 6-foot-5, but not his listed 6-foot-7), can shoot it some and is a good athlete. He lacks bulk, but has enough in other areas to make up for it.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Aaron Bowen, but on this day he was quite impressive. The 6-foot-5, possibly 6-6, wing can really score it. Jevonte Reddick showed off a great looking stroke from 18-21 feet. He also ran the floor looking to score
Aaron Bowen said he hasn’t paid much attention to his recruitment lately, but he noted that Miami, Florida State, Marshall, Charlotte and Southern Illinois are recruiting him.

The Hoyas will host an unsigned 2010 small forward for final weekend of 2009-2010 regular season

One of the busier teams on the spring recruiting trail recently has been the Georgetown Hoyas. Despite not having a scholarship senior on their roster, the Hoyas have four openings in their class of 2010. Two of those scholarships were filled during the early signing period by Markel Starks of nearby Georgetown Prep and Nate Lubick of St. Mark’s School in Massachussets. The Hoyas also face the reality that Saturday could be the final regular season game with Greg Monroe as the 6-foot-10 sophomore center is a likely lottery pick in the 2010 NBA Draft his coming June, adding to the Hoyas desite to add depth to their roster.

We have previously profiled in our premium section the recruitment of 2010 spring Hoya big man targets Maurice Walker and Moses Abraham while today we take a look at a 2010 small forward that has been on the Big East radar for more than a year and has an official visit scheduled to Georgetown for this weekend…
