You're going to complain every day about our basketball team until we get a 6'10 back to the basket player aren't you?

Well Smith is more like a G/F combo. It's not bad to start 3 guards a forward and a center. I think that will be a good line up. I like having a taller presence in our line up.

How would this have been any different if we started Floyd instead of Carter?

I think we need a back to the basket guy, but I also think this system we have is going to work. As long as we stay fast paced.

I wasn't complaining. I was pointing out that our coaches or SID department should have listed it like -
Jesse G
Seth G
Ohman F
Smith F
Carter C

It just looked weird to see a team's lineup with all guards. But if you ask? (Not sure I was complaining - but more hoping) YES. I don't think Liberty gets to that next level until we have a back to the basket true center. I have played a lot of basketball in my lifetime, no where like SCAR, but I was recruited out of High School to play small college ball, but I chose track instead. And I can tell you - until we have a decent true center - we will have a tough time competing against big time programs even in our league (mid-major), because I guarantee they do. Those guys take the heat off the guards and allow them to create space to shoot the 3. Other teams are going to be able to match up with us by playing a small fast lineup and we have no one that will force them to stay home in the lane on defense.

I'm not saying there aren't exceptions, but man do the stars have to align to be successful - and Lovedale played like a center for them last year - do we have a Lovedale? Someone that will grab 10+ rebounds a game?

Lovedale averaged 6 ppg and 5 boards a game. I'd say we probably have a Lovedale on our roster.

And the fast style offense will cause people to get open. I think we will a lot of drives to the basket and then kick outs for quick threes. I also think we will see quite a few alleys from those kick out opportunities.

Check out there big games and the tournament. he played big when they needed him. Maybe Smith cane do this too, but i will stand firm that we need a true center.

It's very family friendly - Children go to bed at 8:00 and then you and the wife can just slip out and watch a game:).

They're sleeping - what could happen anyway?

JK - My wife never minds me going if i help get the children in bed. She can catch up on all those girly shows like Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Sons of Anarchy, etc...

The SoA would drag your carcass all over Charming if they heard you say that.

But my daughter likes to go to basketball games. But she'll be asleep an hour before tipoff.

I shall be watching on TV, too...13-2 is carrying both games. I have a long day traveling tomorrow.

BTW...the seats (at least those that are NOT STILL BE INSTALLED AS OF 330 PM)...look great. The red and blue banners hanging from the circular concourse are a nice addition, as well as the red LED lights around the baskets.

The paper was just listing them by the positions they are designated as on the team roster. We all know that Smitty and Brolin are going to be playing more of a forwards role, and Kyle will be a true swing man, seeing time at the 2 and 3. A lot of us thought Brolin would be starting in the post, which would have made 5 "guards". I'm sure we will see some of that lineup during the year.
